As a FTM, I'm curious what sleep looked like for the first few months with an infant - after the baby was fed, how hard was it to get them back to sleep? I know different babies can be vastly different, but I've found it hard to get a sense for the range of normal. I read a couple of books, which made it sound like if you follow their techniques babies will go back to sleep quickly and start sleeping longer stretches at night by 4-6 weeks. On the other hand, there's nothing that people love more than to tell a pregnant woman that her kid will scream for hours on end in the middle of the night for months straight. I know some babies do this, but is it more the norm than the baby sleep books make it sound?
