i got pregnant a couple months BEFORE we were officially going to start "trying". i had just come off the pill and figured it'd take my body a few months to get back to normal after being on it for almost 10 years. guess i didn't need that time!

With my daughter it was the first try- and I was shocked.

This second time around, I got pregnant on the 6th cycle. I was starting to worry, but just kept reminding myself that 6 months is actually pretty average.

Before we were TTC I was terrified that it was going to be hard for me to get pregnant. There was no real reason for me to think that, and even my doctor told me that everything in my history said things would be fine. So, after my first month of trying with no pregnancy I was worried that there would be many more to come, but on month 2, I was pregnant! Talk about worrying for no reason!

We're currently on our third month of trying, so I'm not sure how long it will take yet. I'm in the middle of the dreaded two week wait, so I'll have to get back to you on this one.

We definitely rode the infertility roller coaster. I got off birth control after our wedding in September 2009 and we started trying. By January 2010, OB suggested I try Clomid, which I did for 3 cycles with no luck. In June 2010, we went to a Reproductive Endocrinologist (RE) and had a journey of about 1 year with him. I was diagnosed with PCOS and hubs actually had too many sperm which results in his boys running into each and not swimming well. We had 4 IUIs using Clomid, one resulted in a miscarriage. January 2011 we found out we got pregnant on our own (!!!) but at 6 week ultrasound saw we had suffered another miscarriage. RE told us to wait 8 weeks before trying anything. On our first cycle of 2011 in early June we tried a final IUI using a cocktail of Femara & Gonal-F injections and on July 7, 2011 we saw our little one and their heartbeat on the ultrasound screen!

Honeymoon baby here! First cycle of even thinking that maybe we would start trying soon We're done with pregnancy though... So #2 will be coming to us via adoption. I wasn't up for being pregnant again over 40! (and am so glad to have experienced it once)

But, yeah, we think we're pretty fertile.

Well, we were also some of the lucky ones, which was great because I've always had the irrational fear that it would take months worth of trying...you can imagine my surprise when I saw that second line after our first month of trying! I'm guessing I take after my fertile mertyl mother.

So interesting to see all of these responses!

8 months (if this one sticks!)

I got pregnant on month 3 trying, but miscarried right away. Then we had to wait to start trying again. We just got pregnant on month 3 trying since my miscarriage. I'm currently 4.5 weeks pregnant and hoping this one sticks!

The first time I got pregnant, it was our first time of really "trying" but that ended in a natural miscarriage at 12 weeks. We had to wait 3-4 months to try again. The second time I got pregnant, it was right when we tried again but that ended right away (chemical pregnancy.) so now we're waiting about a month and trying again. One thing I know is that I'm fertile!

I too thought I would have issues getting pregnant, but with our first one it took 3 or 4 months of using protection sometimes and not others. Then with the one I'm currently pregnant with it took our first try once I started having cycles. I had been exclusively breastfeeding so I hadn't been having cycles after having my first child, then bam another baby

We started out just not preventing pregnancy. If it happened, it happened. In May, we started trying a bit more aggressively. I knew my cycle pretty well, and new when I ovulated, so we tried around the time, but didn't have to. Then in August, I conceived and I'm about 6 weeks now!

So, I guess without really trying really hard, it took 3 months. This makes me incredibly thankful that we didn't have any major problems getting pregnant.

18 months + clomid + acupuncture + IUI!

Got pregnant the second month the first time, but it didn't stick. We'll see how the next one goes!

It took us 5 cycles. I always had an irrational fear that I'd have fertility issues (with no actual basis in reality) so it was a big relief to see that second line.

it took us 3 long years to get to this point!

first 1.5 years: not preventing, just letting things happen
last month before hubby's deployment: started getting anxious, so purchased a fertility monitor (Clearblue), detected peak ovulation but nothing happened
next 9 months: hubby was deployed
when he returned Sept '10: tried right away, using fertility monitors
march '11: started seeing OB/GYN about fertility, bunch of tests (FSH, clomid challenge test, progesterone, other hormones), diagnosed with PCOS, started first round of Clomid, nothing but progesterone went from 0.3 (without Clomid) to 220's!
april '11: second round of Clomid, nothing, progesterone 60's
may '11: third and last round of Clomid before considering other options, also used Pre-seed, and we found out we were pregnant this month!
sept '11: found out we're expecting twin boys!!

After being diagnosed PCOS, we were shocked to get lucky in the first month of trying with my daughter. My son was nearly a year of trying, with metformin, and yogi fertility tea... While we kept creeping ever closer to my sister in law's amazing wedding.

14 months and counting. Cycle 13 was my first BFP which is slightly comforting, but it was a chemical pregnancy (lasted 4 1/2 days).

I got pregnant our first cycle trying but that pregnancy unfortunately ended in MC about 6 weeks in. We're on our second cycle of trying since the MC now so we'll see how long it takes before we have a sticky one!

The first time (a miscarriage) it took us completely by surprise.

The second time (Claire) it took us 3 months.

The third time (BebeDeux) was a surprise too — only 3 months after giving birth to Claire!
