I noticed recently a lot of bees said that their 1-2 year old liked playing with a toy kitchen. I love the idea of one, but it's a pretty expensive (and big) toy. If you have one, how long did your LO enjoy playing with it? Is it something that they keep using as they get older?

My friend has 5 year old who still likes her play kitchen.

Ellie and her friends are 6 and still like to play with a toy kitchen.

She got it for her first birthday and still loves it at 22 months. Her older cousin loved play food until she was around 7.... bit she'll still play with it occasionally at 8.

I think of all the toys, play kitchens are the best "investments". I remember i had a play kitchen when i was little, and i was still using it at 5 years old.

My niece is 4 and loves her toy kitxhen . its a huge hit!

My nephew still plays with it when he visits; he's 7.

DS is 4 and plays with it daily! I probably wouldn't have bought one but DD is 12 months and will get a lot of use out of it.

We got my niece one for her 2nd birthday and I will say she played with it daily till she was about 7.

My four year olds are still playing with it.

We bought DD a toy stove and introduced it before she turned 10 months old. She plays with it everyday and is spending even more time with it now that she's walking. It's quite tall though (55cm) so she has to be on her tippy toes to push the buttons. But we're planning to buy her a complete play kitchen for her birthday and will put the stove downstairs so she can cook with mamma.

My 2.5 year old son is lukewarm towards it. Good thing I didn't spend a lot for it. Seems like he's most interested in the cups and saucers but it could also be that he doesnt have any play food for it (it is all in storage).

My 4.5 yr old actually doesn't play with it much any more. It is played with mainly by 21 month old. We have a fisher price plastic one though, not sure if she would play with it more if it were "fancier" .
