Looking for a play kitchen rec for my 16 mo old. Ideally, room for two to play together (he has a sister on the way), not too ugly since I'm planning on putting it in my kitchen, can't be more than 40" wide, cabinets to open and close that will fit pots, etc inside. Any recommendations?

They are a bit too pricey for us but I LOVE the wooden ones made by hape or plan toys. They are pretty small too. Right aid and walgreens also have some small plastic cheapie ones. That's what we got cause we live in a small place too.

A is getting a step 2 one for Christmas but I know most people prefer the wooden ones.

We have the Kidkraft Uptown Espresso one. It meets the size requirements and looks nice in our kitchen.

@MrsMccarthy: we gave Miss A a Hape kitchen for her birthday! She seems to enjoy even though I'm not sure she knows it's a kitchen yet... The play group we go to also has a Hape kitchen and it's still going strong and looking pretty new after three years.

We have the Ikea one and really like it, although the magnets are quite strong on the doors, so they're a little hard to open. My nephew has that KidKraft kitchen that @SugarPlumsMom posted and I like that it has the fridge!

I really loved the look of the Kidkraft retro (separate fridge and stove) but it was impossible to get here. We ended up getting the modern country and I'm pretty happy with it, except for the assembly - which was a huge POS. I'm thinking the vintage would have been easier to assemble.
I am really happy with Kidkraft's customer service! I had a few missing and damaged parts and they sent me a whole new kitchen!
