I just remember from my first pregnancy that I was terrified of losing all my hair that I completely washed out that whole experience from my memory so I can't seem to remember how long it lasted.
Right now, PPhair loss has started (about 2 weeks now) and it doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon.
How long did the postpartum hair loss last?

For me it was almost 15 months before it started slowing down. I don't know how I have any hair left.

I mean the INTENSE hair loss. As in chunks at a time.

I think it's slowed down at 6 months, but I'm still losing more than normal. This did not happen the first time!

I really only noticed it in the shower. During the shower handfuls would come out and our hair catcher over the drain would be totally clogged with hair. It really took a long time for that to slow down. Now it's maybe one handful per shower.

@mrstilly: i wish it was only in the shower. Everytime I pass my hand in my hair I have a handfull. I have 5-7 handfulls of hair a day. In the shower it's worse.

I had a post about this earlier! My hairline is literally receding in two parts! WHAT!?! I have super thick hair to begin with too. I can only part my hair down the middle. It just started when DD with 3.5 months old and I think its only gotten worse (she's now 4 months). UGHHHH

My hair loss started at around 4 months and stopped around 10. I am still dealing with the regrowth along my hairline at 20 months post partum.

I'm 4 months PP and I think I'm in denial. I have been telling myself that I used to lose this much hair in the shower pre-pregnancy and that I'm just not used to it because it slowed during pregnancy. But now reading this thread I think it's definitely started and perhaps the worst is yet to come. And I already have a huge forehead naturally....this better not affect my hairline....maybe it's time to go back to having bangs?

I did not experience PP hairloss with DS and I must say this thread is really freaking me out :o I'm hoping I don't loose any after LO is born I already have such thing hair

I am 6 months pp and it doesn't seem to be slowing down :(. I've got peach fuzz all along my hairline...it's so sad!

I was just going to ask this question. Mine started immediately, and hair still comes out by the handful whenever I brush it, shower, pull it back in to a ponytail, anything! I had thick hair to begin with, and I guess it got super thick while pregnant, because it's definitely not thin. But I'm sick of my hair being everywhere and ready for it to stop!

Mine FINALLY stopped about a month ago, at 7 months PP! I'm no longer losing clumps of hair on a daily basis - hooray!
I do have a pretty ugly bald spot in the front though, and I have all these little hairs growing back that are sticking straight up. So hideous!

Mine was really intense for about 2 months. I think it started around 3 months PP and continued through to 5 months PP. Now the rate of hair loss has really slowed, and it's starting to grow back in again. I'm glad it stopped b/c my hair was starting to get really thin!

Mine just started the past two weeks or so (LO is 4 months) and there is hair EVERYWHERE. It is driving me absolutely crazy! I'm constantly picking hair of DD and I don't even want to talk about how much hair I pull out of the drain every day.
I have super thick hair so I haven't noticed any thin spots but I hope it starts tapering off before too long.

I'm 8 mos pp, but I'm still losing a fair amount of hair. I will say it definitely a lot better then months 4 6, which seemed to be the worst.
