My LO is 4 months old next week and all of my hair is falling out! Ok, not all of it but I have two bald patches on my hairline now and I can't part my hair anyway but down the middle (which with my huge forehead looks awful). Did this happen to any of you? Is there anything I can do??

My stylist recommended using a sulfate-free shampoo, but this was after my post-pregnancy hair loss had been going on for a while, so it was really too late to make a difference for me! But it can't hurt to try, right?

I started my PP hair loss. Definitely wasn't looking forward to it.
Just know you are losing the hair you didn't during pregnancy. -

@anacarlin: Mine started around 2.5 months and it comes out in clumps! No bald spots yet though...eeek
I think someone recommended B Vitamins? -
@regberadaisy: He had shampoo in the shop that he said he recommended, but I can't remember the name...I didn't buy it because he didn't have any for fine hair (which I have and let me tell you - losing clumps of hair when your hair already thin and fine is a TREAT). I need to call him and find out!
Anyway, I happened to have a bottle of Burt's Bees Pomegranate Soy shampoo around and that is sulfate free, so I started using that, but I don't really like it. My hair doesn't feel clean. Maybe I need sulfates after all??

I started having hair loss after my surgery. I've been taking biotin and it's helping.

I lost so much hair postpartum. A year later, and my hair is growing back and looking less silly.

Yep. I have a receding hairline. It's not cute. But I can hide it a little because my hair is puffy

I always have 20+hairs on the back of my shirt. It is quite embarassing. It is also frustrating because there my LO is always covered in my hair!
I got my stylist to give me thicker side bangs and a thicker cut to make my hair look more full. So far so good...

I'm shedding so badly, but so far no bald spots. I am still taking my prenatal vitamin, maybe that's helping? But I'm really ready for my hair to get back to it's regular shedding schedule so I can justify getting highlights. I just don't think full-head foils are worth it with how much hair I'm losing right now!

My hair is everywhere. No bald spots, but just shedding like crazy. Every time I shower I lose at least one hamster's worth of hair. I'm 5.5 mos postpartum and I think it's maybe slowing down... (fingers crossed!)

I know its pricey, but what about Ovation Cell Therapy shampoo/moisturizer/hair treatment? All of their products (I think) are free of parabens, sulfates, and formaldehyde.

Omg, meeee too! I'm 4.5 months pp. Seems worse with #2 than with #1. I even clogged our shower pretty badly that two treatments of baking soda and hot water and then vinegar didn't help. I had to go stronger...foaming liquid plumber. A friend recommended Nioxin shampoo and another recommended more Vit. D, Omega 3, minerals, and antioxidants. I keep forgetting to try them. Good thing I have lots of hair so you can't tell. I also have been tying them up all day b/c my LO grabs my hair now. I wonder if that helps or makes it worse? Hmm...

Oh after reading this thread I can't wait! My hair is long--to the middle of my back, and I swear I feel like I haven't lost any hair this whole pregnancy. I am just preparing myself for it to fall out in clumps!

I am soooooo NOT looking forward to this, but at least I've been mentally preparing myself since I was pregnant. Before pregnancy, I shed a lot of hair as is, but during pregnancy, no hairs would fall out, which was amazing! I'm going to miss my pregnancy hair!!
I also have a huge forehead and center-parts are nasty looking on me!!!

I just posted on FB today complaining about hair loss! I'm 6.5 months pp and hair loss is still going strong. I started around 4 months and during that first 1-1.5 months I seriously thought I'd be bald soon. It's still bad but not AS bad I guess. It's still scary to brush my hair in the morning and to wash my hair. =X
I also have a huge forehead and center-parts are nasty looking on me!!!
