We TTC #2 for about 5 months before I weaned conpketely - 3 of those months were normal BFing (before DD turned 1), then we did one month of 2-3 feeds per day and one month of just one feed per day. Although I got a period and O'ed during that time, my cycles were super wonky and did not return to my normal until the first full month after weaning. I actually got pregnant that cycle, but had a CP. I am convinced that my body was not yet ready to be pregnant. Just starting month 8 of TTC #2, but I almost feel like I can only count this as cycle 3 since my pre-weaning cycles were pretty worthless.

We've been TTC #2 for 9, almost 10 months now without weaning #1. My periods have been back and regular for that time. LO still nurses 3-4 times a day and is (mostly) night weaned. I know this isn't probably helpful to you, but just wanted you to know you're not alone.

I haven't yet weaned my son but I am on cycle 6 and suspect I am like Septca and will have to fully wean before my body allows pregnancy. I've had a cycle since 2 months PP but I've had a short luteal phase and late ovulation. This month we are down to 1 short feed a night and the last two months was only two feeds but no cigar. Many women can just tweak or stop night nursing and get pregnant though. If you have a normal cycle that's like you did before baby I'd say you might be one of the lucky ones.

We ttc'd for three cycles before weaning. I got pregnant two weeks after I weaned.
