Before we had B, we assumed that we wouldn't use the nursery glider very often and opted to buy a cheap one. Today, we were discussing how uncomfortable it is and how we use it a lot more than we anticipated. DH suggested we bite the bullet and invest in a nice one. However, LO is already 9 months. Would it be worth it at this point? If so, any recommendations for a nice, comfy glider/ottoman set?

LO is just about 4.5 months and I'm rocking in ours now! I foresee us using it for SURE for nights for a long time and probably keep using it for when I nurse close to naps, love it!

J is two and we still use ours all the time! we invested in a nice upholstered chair that rocks and swivels, though. So we keep it in our living room. whenever J has middle of the night wake ups, he asks to be rocked. We read books in the chair daily, and it's my favorite place to sit because of how comfortable it is!

We bought it at a floor sample sale at a local baby store for a fraction of the price. -
LO is almost 23 M and we're still using it. When #2 comes it'll be moving to the new nursery.

I've used mine multiple times a day (and night) for the past 3+ years with 2 kids! I would definitely get a comfortable one!

We still use it every night for bedtime stories at 12 months.

Still use ours at 12 months. She goes through phases of liking to be rocked. Still use it for nursing. I'm planning on getting it slip-covered for the future. And I'm surprised how much I actually use the ottoman too!

Eh, we stopped using ours when I started nursing in bed...so R was maybe 3 months old? Now we give her bottles on the couch. We actually moved our glider to the living room to make more room in the nursery.

@rahlyrah: our original recliner was awesome but HUGE so, we just did this and my son is 17m! We kept it inexpensive though. We opted for one that can later be used in our office as well so we wouldn't be "wasting" it. We went back and forth between the following 2 options but ultimately chose the massage chair.

They both glide/rock as well as recline! And both come with ottomans. I can't speak on how great it is yet because I just ordered it 2 days ago and it isn't here yet.

We use it for bedtime stories every night or just for pre-nap snuggles at 17 months. I see us using it this way for a long time.

We still use it every night at 18 months. I also rock DD in it and she is 3 weeks.

18 months and we still use it multiple times a day!

22 months and we still use it multiple times a day. To read books and to rock and sing songs before bedtime.

We bought a La-Z-Boy and are still using it constantly at 21 months. I've even slept it in lately since my toddler keeps waking and wants me near so he can fall asleep again.

T is 22 months and we use it daily. We got one that looks like a piece of furniture and is apholstered. We got it from Jordan's furniture and it is flexteel brand I think. Sooo comfy. We will never get rid of it. Probably will put it in another room like a study when done having kids.

LO is 16 months old and we still use ours daily for both nursing, stories, and when we're just hanging out in LO's room. I hope that we'll use it for a long time to come!

The cheap one that we got broke after very heavy daily use when she was around a year old. I would for sure still be usuing it daily if it still was functional at 22 months. Maybe I will check craigslist today

We bought a nice one and I'm so glad we did. We still sit in it to read books and sit in it as we get her ready for bed. Plus, if you're thinking of having another, you'll get your money out of it if you're nursing. LO #2 is due in a week, so we'll use it for at least another year.

A lot of gliders now are really stylish and can easily transition to a sitting room/living area when you're done nursing. Maybe look for one in a color/style that could also go in another part of your home so you can keep using it after LO?

ours lived through two kids so we used it 4 years. i would have kept it but we didn't have the space in our new apartment!

18 months and still using it. We use it for after bath snuggles, morning snuggles, and especially naps and bedtime routine. DH just tightened the screws not too long too.
