We had been TTC for 9 months when I had my annual exam. I mentioned we hadn't been successful and she recommended tests. My husband had varicocele surgery during month 11 and we had our first IUI last cycle, which was 17.

I went to my doctor at 5 months. She is an OBGYN and a Fertility Specialists. For the next 4 months she had me on a bunch of supplements and using OPKs. She called this "enhancing my fertility." After that was up she ran a ton of tests which included a bunch of blood work, an HSG, a saline sonogram, and a sperm analysis for DH. The SA showed a motility issue so for this cycle she had me on Femara and we are doing an IUI as soon as I O. So I guess the answer to your question is at cycle 11 we started doing fertility treatments at cycle 11.

We made the appointment with a urologist at 3 months - we already knew DH had a varicocele. Both SAs with the urologist showed low motility so our first appointment with the RE was at 5 months. We're on cycle 8 now, and once I get my CD3 bloodwork done next cycle we'll be able to start on either IUI or IVF.

I went to the doctor at 9 months, but I bet it will be a year before I get to the treatment stage - if I'm lucky! This waiting for the referral is driving me craaaaaaaazy!

I went to the doctor at 4 months and she had me come back in if I wasn't successful by 7 months. I did bloodwork on this cycle (8) and now I'm going to an endocrinologist in two weeks (thyroid issues). I don't know if I'd call that the start of fertility treatments, but if we're not successful by the 1 year mark then I'll go to an RE.

We got pregnant after our first try, but sadly lost that baby a few short weeks ago. My doctor knows I have an ovulation issue so he decided to put me on fertility meds to help me ovulate in a couple of weeks. No waiting to see if it will happen naturally. I appreciate that he is actually listening to me and not telling me to try for another couple of months.

I went in two months in knowing that I wasn't ovulating. My doctor was willing to be aggresive and I'm thankful. I got pregnant on my fourth clomid clomid cycle.

We saw an RE after five months, who confirmed endometriosis. Because of my age (34) and the diagnosis, we started treatments at cycle 9. Now on IUI cycle #2.

I have only had one period on my own and that was at 15. So I was referred to an RE as soon as I told by GYN we wanted to start TTC.
