DD is still in hers and has lots of room to grow. Will keep her in it until she's 4 probably. Maybe longer if it's still comfortable.
We have an Advocate 70.

@autumnlove: @SAHM0811: so crazy that you guys stayed RF for so long! But I probably would have too if I lived in CA!

@chopsuey: it's actually because we were in NYC til she was 3.5 yo! So we moved back here when she was 3-ish, and I was SUPER paranoid about driving again (I hadn't owned a car in over 8 years, let alone driven with little kids so much), so I just started her out RF since she didn't know any better at the time

@runsyellowlites: she's actually around 50%! The RF height on ours is just when the top of her head is an inch from the top of the shell.

I put my friends son in our britax 70 rear facing at 4 years old. The head shells moves up so it is possible.

@SAHM0811: Yea, they find have a standing limit... I just read a few different places that with the short shell ~37" is when that 1" limit is hit, usually after 2 but definitely before the recommended 4. Seems you like definitely got longer use than most!!

Rear facing until 32 months, at about 36 inches/32 pounds.

He will stay on the 5 point harness until he is mature enough for a belt positioning booster and outgrows the weight/height limits for the seat.

@runsyellowlites: @looch: my DD has long legs, so most of her height goes down there. So when she was seated at that age, she still had tons of room up top! And with her legs being long, she just sat "criss-cross applesauce". Our Marathon doesn't haven't an extendable part that I know of. It was made in 2009 though, so maybe things have changed since then.

@brownie: The measurements for both rf (1" below) or ff (when ear reach top of shell) is done from the shell itself, not the moveable head wings.

@SAHM0811: I figured she was a long legged lady! P has long legs too!... She is 30.125 right now at 17 mths so I think we'll make it close to 3 if not to 3. I do have to call though b/c something tells me she'll exceed the 1" from shell limit before she reaches the 25lb minimum for removing the infant insert (she's 20.9 right now).. gotta a ways to go though. We still plan on upgrading her to a higher limit seat so we can continue rf till 4 but we'll use the Combi from birth for the next so it helped the sting of spending the money on another seat.

I rear faced my oldest until he was 2.5 (he's almost 4.5 now) b/c my belly was just getting too big to be carrying him up there (my old SUV was a bit high). I forget his weight but he's pretty average in terms of height and weight for his age. For my youngest, he is 18 months now and almost 30 lbs and I can still rear face him in his Diono RXT which has a rear-facing limit of 45 lbs. I plan on rear facing him for as long as possible. I bought all Diono in hopes of not having to buy anymore car seats for a very long time. I think both kids will use it until they can't use it anymore. The new Dionos can be booster up until 120 which is pretty awesome!
