Good God I was totally unprepared for the responses in this thread. A month or more of bleeding?!?! Gah.

@highwire: me too. This is one of those things people never tell you! A month of bleeding sounds terrible.

Mine was heavy for 2-3 weeks. It was then slow for a week or so until it stopped completely. Of course, as soon as I sent my husband out for another case of humungo pads, I stopped bleeding. As soon as I sent him out for panty liners, I stopped spotting.

3.5 weeks for us. It felt like a lifetime though.

i want to say about 6 weeks? but maybe needed pads for about 3 and pantiliners for the rest.

I had an easy natural delivery and I think my bleeding died down around 4 weeks and then at 6 weeks it started up again for another two weeks. So really, it was 8 weeks before I could stop wearing a pad/panty liner

im 4 weeks out (had a c section) and am still bleeding, its not heavy but its annoying.

@mrs. wagon: I'm still pregnant, but I was taught that women bleed anywhere from 4-6 weeks post-delivery when I was in nursing school.

6 weeks and had a c-section. I thought it went away at 4 weeks but it came back.

About 1 week. Got my period at about 10 weeks PP and actually bled heavier and longer than I did right after birth(I had a csection). It was for like 2 weeks and I bled through super+ tampons(gross I know!)

I also had postpartum hemorrhage. My LO just turned 4 weeks old and my bleeding finally paled at the beginning of the week. The first week and a half was so heavy that I gave up wearing pads and just wore adult diapers. I didn't have to worry so much about leaking and it helped with the incontinence. Sorry for the TMI but lesson learned. I will never skip kegels again.

@roccoandkirby: I had a pretty bad pp hemorrhage...had hoped I'd have less bleeding since I lost so much right after...no such luck, sigh.

I voted more than 4w..mine was 31 days and then like 4days later my period started!? Don't know how or why..I am EBF.

I think mine finally completely stopped right before my 6-week postpartum checkup.

Mine was about 3.5 weeks - panty liners are the end, a few days before 4 weeks I stopped wearing any pads or liners.
