Here's our routine: I use a kid-sized toothbrush and some natural toothpaste that Bee got, and go through the same steps each time:

* Have him close his mouth and brush both top and bottom of his front teeth for a long ten-count.
* Then I have him open his mouth and brush his left bottom teeth for a long ten-count.
* Then I do his right bottom teeth for a ten-count.

Then I have him spit out and then we do the same thing for:

* His top left side
* His top right side
* One more time on the front teeth, top and bottom.

It takes me from 90 seconds to 2 minutes, and I've been doing it twice a day. I have been trying to extend the length of time, but I worry that Charlie will lose patience with me and sour on toothbrushing. So what I've been doing is after I finish brushing Charlie's teeth, I let him brush his own teeth. I brush my teeth at the same time, and we brush them together. I show him all of my tooth brushing moves, and I hope that he's learning good oral hygiene.

Still, I read that you're supposed to brush at least 2-3 minutes so worry that we're not doing it for long enough.
