He definitely has a short attention span. Right now, it's a lot 40 mins.

@littlek: Okay thanks. I wasnt sure if the water (chlorine) would have more effect if I kept her in the water too long

We get in and out a lot because she gets cold. She started really loving it at 2 and could stay in there all day if that was possible.

As long as he wants. He has never reacted to chlorine so if he will play I will let him. His lessons are usually 30 min long and he will play after if we let him.

@Mrsbells: Mine is good at letting me know when he. is. done. Mainly I worry about sun exposure more than anything else.

M gets really dry ashy skin, so we limit her to half an hour with a bath afterward and lots of lotion. Lala usually stays in for up to an hour before she gets too cold.

My 14 month old will stay in the pool up to two hours as long as the water isn't too cold!

he would stay in all day if we let him! we take him out between 45mins-1hr i'd say, just because of the heat/sun.

She's almost two and doesn't stay in the pool long. She gets bored and would rather walk around the pool.

We just took DD to the pool for the first time at 17.5 months and stayed in for about 20 minutes before her teeth started chattering and seemed cold. She wanted to stay in but she looked too cold so I took her out. Is this because she still can't regulate her body temperature? When does it get better?

My son is 3 and he stays in the pool for at least an hour or longer. He LOVES the pool. But when he was 2, he stayed in the pool for around 30-45 mins. He got bored pretty fast.
