LO is 1 and nurses for 5 minutes on each side.

That was a REALLY hard time period for us...actually months 4-9 were tough in terms of distraction. He never nursed more than 10 minutes though, and it was usually less...if I got 3-5 minutes on each side, I was happy! It was usually 3-4 on the first side and maybe 2-3 on teh 2nd unless he was tired or upset, or first thing in the morning.

About 10-15 minutes, usually only one side. I know what you mean about the distraction! Sometimes I have to send DH to another room because LO will just smile and stare at him the whole time.

One month and it takes about 20-30 minutes.

@Running Elley: M has almost always nursed for less than 10 minutes (even as a newborn) and she only nurses on one side at a time!

DD is 12 weeks and takes minimum 15/side, but usually will go 20or more a side! I think she would stay on all day if I let her. She tends to get sleepy and stops a lot. I have to keep jostling her to her to keep going.

C is 9 months, and normally it's about 15-20 minutes now, though it's longer first thing in the morning (30 min or more).

At three months she took forever-30-45 min easily. Buts she was a slow nurser and a comfort nurser. Now she is so much more distractible.

@MrsKoala: c was the same- I watched every episode of Parenthood while nursing, like almost five seasons! Now I can't have the tv on or she tries to stare at it.

12 months - usually 8-10 minutes.

8.5 months and 5-10 minutes on one side. Like @lawbee11: my LO has always done under 10 mins, one side only. She's a snacker.

@Foodnerd81: I just finished all of Parenthood while nursing. DS is almost 7 weeks!

He takes each side usually and for 10 mins each. I don't know if only offering one side would work for us or how to do that!

DD is 5 months and takes less than 10min and I only offer 1 side per feeding.

DS at that age would take at least 30min, and I only offered one side.
