DH and I are travelling overseas to visit both of our families over Christmas, spending the majority of our time in the UK with his family before heading on to the States to visit my family. DH is taking a month off work but needs to be back after New Year, so he'll be heading back to Australia at the start of January and I'll be staying in the States for 3 additional weeks with our LO, who will be 6 months old at the time.

DH is really worried that DD won't remember him when we get back - and I have to admit, I'm a bit worried about this too! We'll skype or face time every day so she can see his face (although not sure she'll understand that concept at that age) and hear his voice, but I'm still worried she'll be a bit freaked out when we get back and I know he'll be so upset if that happens.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Is there anything we can do to make sure she remembers him? I'm just kicking myself that I didn't book an earlier flight back but I sort of got steam rolled by my family...argh.
