When your LO gets hurt on your watch?
LO did a face plant at around 3:30pm and her top teeth cut into the inside of her upper lip. *sigh* Seeing her bloody mouth seriously shaved a couple of months off of my life.
She went to bed happy and laughing, but I still feel so terrible for letting it happen.

Sometimes these things just happen and there is nothing you can do about it. It's part of the parenting course. That said DS fell when he was about 4 months old and 6 months lasted I'm still kicking myself in a** about it.

I used to feel bad when she was smaller but I don't feel too bad anymore. It happens a lot the older they get!

DS fell twice in less than 24 hours while he was home alone with me one weekend. DH was at his parents working. DS got a red mark on his eyebrow and a skinned nose! I felt sooooooo awful, especially after the second time. He was not quite 9 months old yet and while he didn't fall far, I just felt like the worst mother. I'm mostly over it now, about 2 months later. It does happen all the time, to every kid, and they will be just fine. *hugs*

When I called and spoke to the nurse at my pediatrician's, I said..
"I feel like such a terrible mother."

*HUG* If it makes you feel any better, my LO fell in his crib a few eeks ago and cut the inside of his bottom lip. I heard it (since we only have a video monitor) but thought he was okay. When I went to go get him from his nap, his crib sheet had blood stains! I felt terrible but LO was in a good mood and it didn't seem to bother him. Your LO was happy...thats great! no harm done

It isn't quite the same, but my Milk Soy Intolerant infant had cheese on a pizza the other day (the joint messed up and he had some before figuring it out.) I have barely forgiven myself for taking 3 months to solve the problem.
We have to accept that things happen and just love our babies as much as possible. My hubs is on travel this week too so I feel for you.
You are a great mommy!!! keep up the good work. I would worry if I wasn't a little guilty.

i'm not sure, but i fell for a scam back in jhs and i still haven't forgiven myself for it... SO.... might take at least 30 years. maybe. more like, a lifetime. haha.
