AHH!! O crawled 1-2 "steps" (?) today!!!
The past couple weeks she's been rocking, but the last few days she's really been strongly/easily getting onto all 4s....just could NOT figure out how to move, except to faceplant on her stomach.
Today, she wanted a toy my nanny LO had, and took a few..crawls!?
Now I'm thinking I need to babyproof, asap.

In a matter of a day or two. Just one day he was kind of scooting and the next he was all over the house.

C went from not even trying to crawling across a room. He has never been a practicing type of child, more of a wait until I KNOW I can do it.

He just started (9.5 months) but is making it so hard. He sticks his elbows out and then pulls himself.

@highwire: 9 months next week (sad face). She's been sitting (if I put her there) since 5 months, but totally content to just sit..lol. she never cared to pull up, move, anything. so I'm totally thrown off by this!
@mrskc: oh gosh. I am going to have to step up my game vacuuming the dog hair..ahh!

@sorrycharlie: It was a week or so between when she could crawl and when she was pretty fast at it..but she was already mobile before that by scooting which she did quickly..so we were already working on babyproofing what we could!
eta- That was a couple weeks ago, and she cut her first tooth yesterday and pulled up all the way for the first time this morning. So it could all be coming at once (mobility)!

In the past couple of weeks, LO has been army crawling all over the place, so 9.5 months old. He's not sure of the on the knees crawling yet. He usually ends up going from all fours to sitting properly. According to my mom, who used to give Denver tests to babies, said that the fours to sitting is a developmental milestone.

We are at almost 9 months old (on July 1st) and she's arming crawling everywhere. She rocks on all fours, but she realizes she can get places faster with what she's mastered. It's only a matter of time before she pulls herself up (she will crawl up your leg now!)

@sorrycharlie: so relieved to hear this. E is 8+m old and he has zero interest in pullin up and is a failure at crawling. He loves to sit, if I set it up for him.
It sounds like once they start, it goes from 0-100% pretty rapidly! *fx*

Right away (went from no crawling - just rocking on his knees - to full-on crawling in a day). He was 7.5 months old. Still haven't baby-proofed, so we're watching him even more like a hawk, though we did just get foam tiles for him to crawl on - the activity gym won't contain him anymore!

@TurtleDoves: yes it seems to be moving quick already! although she just burst into tears because she was on all 4s, and wanted a toy..and also wanted to be up on all 4s but couldn't figure out how to do both. lol.

I think E was 9ish months whe she started to crawl. She's not at all interested in walking now though. Sigh.

@sorrycharlie: Benji is the exact same way....on all 4s, wanting a to, but can't quite get moving. Then he cries!

LO started army crawling at around 7.5 months and got up on all 4's for "regular" hand + knee crawling just a few days after he turned 8 months. Took him just a few weeks to get really good and really FAST!

I posted the same thing a while back, it took LO a good 3 weeks to go from rocking on all fours to crawling (army) with intent, but he started young (6 months). Now at just barely 7 months he army crawls fast and does "real crawling" here and there.

A is full on crawling now... She actually started 2 months ago but then lost interest and started sitting up instead. Now she's back to crawling and can scale the room pretty quickly. Today she crawled across the rug to get to me when I held my arms out to her - heart melt 
. She's seven-and-a-half months.

It took C about a week to really fully master it-- she didn't start crawling until 10 1/2 months!
