My best friend was induced yesterday evening and I haven't heard any updates, so I am curious...
How long did it take to deliver once your induction was started?

Mine took almost exactly 48 hours. But I think I'm not the norm. Ended in a c section.

Cervadil inserted at 10pm, Pitocin started at like 4am. DD was born at 7:31pm. Vaginal birth, my water broke on it's own 24 hours before they induced me.

I started at 10am Monday 1cm dilated and lo was born via c section at 430am Tuesday. 18.5 hrs. Could've been faster or slower. They told me to expect 24+ hrs but i actually dilated super fast once my water broke and I think if she'd not gotten stuck she would've arrived by 1 or 2 am!

Cervidil at around 11am (fully closed), Pitocin started at 4ish, fully dilated by 8:30, pushing at 9, baby at 10pm! Faster than most, I think.

@autumnlove: Just like you Tuesday to Thursday, except I threw in the towel for a c-section at 12 AM. So weak, lol!

@Danizaur: I could see it in my OB's eyes at midnight after a loooooong couple of days: "Woman, let me cut you!"
And he had the graciousness to say, "Are you sure?" Must be a southern thing, ha!

@Espion: hehe I picture your OB with a giant steak knife saying that. Because I want too many crime shows, apparently

Got cervadil at 9pm on a Thursday and ended with a csection by 5 on Friday. Not too bad, all things considered.

Went in at 5pm, Cervidil in just before 7pm, pit started the next morning and water broke by MD. Pit went until laaate that night when they found baby wasn't responding well so they shut it off. Nothing else happened so I had a c-section at 10am on day 3 (Halloween!). About 39 hours and only stopped then due to intervention.

A little over 36 hours. Ended in emergency c-section. I should note that I was induced because the baby's heart rate had low variability, so it was a cold start without any contractions. I had the maximum dosage of pitocin, followed by cervadil overnight, then pitocin the next day. Dilated to 4 cm maximum. They broke my water a few hours before the c/s...I can't remember when exactly, but it did nothing for me.

28 hours and ended up with twin a born vaginally with vaccuum and twin b c-section. I actually spent most of the time with not much happening. I started dilating after the epi, was complete in 4 hrs, then spent 4.5 hrs pushing.

At hour 60 they had to use forceps to pull little one out.
I am hoping for a planned c section with baby 2.

DD1: 10 hrs
DD2: 5 hrs
With both I came into the hospital at 8am, has my water broken, pitocin, epi and was fully dilated within 4-5 hours. DD1 was not low enough yet though so we had to labor down for 4 hrs then, 2 hrs pushing. DD2 on the other hand was in perfect position and was out in 3 pushes.

@blackbird: lol! I think my first nurse would have been the one with the steak knife. That lady was no joke!
