My almost nine month old dd has had a wicked runny nose, slight cough, sneezing for six days now. I know it's a cold, but this being her first one, don't know how long these things last with babies. She has a pediatrician appointment on Thursday for her well baby checkup. I'm not being neglectful by waiting until then for her to see him, am I? How long do your LOs colds last?

Usually 2-3 weeks for us.

Yea usually after 2-3 weeks we went to the doctor to make sure nothing was settling in her chest but some lingered for about 6 weeks before going away.

We are on our 3rd week of a faucet nose and slight (but rattle-like) cough. It isn't getting worse, so I am not worried yet, just annoyed at the nose dripping so much and hurting her now!

Usually a couple of weeks. There's not much a doctor can do for a cold, so we never take her in unless it seems to be settling in her chest or turning into an ear infection.

@Weagle: it's funny, as a nurse, in my head, I KNOW this. "It's a cold, they can't do anything." As a FTM I'm just like "my baby doesn't feeeeeeel welllllll! Please fix her!!" Lol

@NurseMommy: yes that struggle is horrible! Do you have good boogie wipes? Those were the best for extended nose wiping.

@NurseMommy: I know. It's hard to see them sick. Every time LO is sick I get ragey thinking, "What kind of country is this that we don't have a cure for the common cold?!?!"
