WOHMs, how long after you came back from maternity leave (typical American mat. leave of 6-12 weeks is what I'm interested in) before you had to stay home from work to take care of a sick baby?
Bonus q, did you breastfeed and if so, how long?

I was home with my LO for 15 weeks (12 weeks mat leace + 3 weeks vacation). She started day care when I went back to work. She's now almost 9 months old and two weeks ago was the first time we had to take time off to stay home. She had a mild case of croup so hubs stayed with her Tuesday and I stayed home Wednesday and then she went back to school.
ETA: she is and always has been 100% breastfed.

My son was 2 when I went to work and put him in daycare, but we had a bout of illness right when he began in February.
I think it had a lot to do with the fact that it was flu season and he was exhibitng ashtmatic symptoms, but let's just say that the receptionist at the ped has actually said to me that she sees us way to much!

My materinity leave was 12 weeks. I think we made it about a month before she got sick and I had to stay home. We breastfed for 18 months.

DD went to daycare at 16 months, so a little longer than your time frame. She had been breastfed, but wasn't any longer at that point. She got a stomach bug in THREE DAYS (and I got it in five days!) into the daycare and my new job..... it was brutal.

M is 10.5 months and hasn't ever had anything more than a little cold. I've never had to take a sick day for her. She is FF.

Not personal experience, but my sister ebf and was back at work less than a month before having to take a day off to stay home with a sick baby. It was fall/winter time so I think they were understanding that babies get sick easily that time of year. She felt like she had to stay home to comfort nurse, as well as ease her worries about her LO being sick for the first time.
