and what made you make the switch?

Never. I wanted to.... but I'm such a planner and I was way too impatient. I liked knowing that I was doing everything I could to get pregnant asap.

Well, I went off the pill for a few months before we started to try to conceive. It wasn't really hard but it was annoying because I wanted to try immediately, he wanted to wait a few more months. Ps..what does NTNC mean? I would read it as Not Trying Not Conceiving? lol.

@TJBee: okay, I know it's the acronym and it's well-used out there but...does that make sense? My brain can't compute it. Shouldn't it be not trying to conceive?

We NTNTC from October - December, then started TTC after the holiday season.

Well we orginially said NTNT but it ended up just being TCC without keeping temps.

@mediagirl: I know it's confusing.
The way I understood it, NTNC was when you're not using any barriers (BC, pull-out...etc) but you're not actively tracking your cycles and timing your BD. You're passively allowing pregnancy to happen if/when it happens.
TTC is when you're actively timing your BD and tracking cycles (charting, checking CM, ovulation predictors)...etc to ACTIVELY make pregnancy happen.

We were never TTC!
We were NTNT (I had literally just gotten off the pill) when I got pregnant. I have endo and was told by my doctor it would be hard for me to conceive. We figured I wouldn't great pregnant til I had been off the pill for at least a year... SIKE!

We went from preventing straight to trying so we never did.

Hm.... I was thinking about NTNC for a little while just to get DH used to the fact that we pulled the goalie and not freak him out too much with talk of temps and CM and DPOs. It goes against every fiber of my being (I'm a control freak too), that's why I was hoping for some stories about girls who transitioned....
Doesn't sound like it's very common.

We were NTNT for three months before TTC. I would have been trying during that time, but DH wasn't totally ready.

We were sort of NTNT from Sept to Oct. I temped as BC prior to that, so I already had an idea of my cycle. I just didn't look at the thermometer for those months because I thought it would make me nervous. We started actively TTC (temping and OPKs) in Nov and Dec was our BFP.

I think we went a year before we decided to get serious. We were still enjoying our relationship, so we weren't in a hurry. I think things switched up when we weren't getting pregnant...so I started charting and what not...

We went directly from not trying to trying. There was no middle ground.

we never tried either, we were using birth control but being a bit relaxed about it and less than 2months after getting married I was pregnant!!

We started TTC right away, no NTNT for us. I have PCOS and was using charting as birth control/information for my doctor before trying anyway so I just kept charting. We also wanted to be sure of timing because it was really important for me to get blood tests ASAP after I found out I was pregnant due to an increased risk of MC and we knew that. I am also a control freak We got pregnant the first month and that ended in a MC, had to take some time off afterwards (I was still charting at the time though), we got pregnant the first month we started trying again which also ended in a MC, took 2 months off for testing and medication adjustments, got pregnant the first month we started trying again and I am currently 13 weeks pregnant.

Never. I don't see a difference between TTC and NTNT. If I'm having sex without birth control, it's all "open season" for pregnancy to me, no matter what I label it.

We were NTNT for about 2 months. I switched because I wanted to try full time.

I would say we did for a few months -- it was the time where I was off the pill, no form of birth control... When it wasn't happening after 3 or 4 months that's when I started with the opk's and tracking my cycles.

Oh we're going straight to TTC. The only reason we didn't start TTC a long time ago is because we're waiting till after our move and until we start our new job. So as soon as we're moderately settled in June, TTC begins in earnest!
