How many alcoholic drinks will you and your SO have at dinner?

@Boogs: I would say it's typical, when we have beer in the house.

We both will have 1-3 drinks at home on a weekend night. If we are out 1-2, the non -driver might have 2-3.

@bluestriped bee: do you mean with dinner every day? Or just...when you DO drink, how much do you drink?

Neither of us drinks on a super regular basis. Maybe one night a week. And then maybe...1-2 drinks on a regular night and then 3 drinks on a "crazy" night/special occasion-night-without-kids type thing.

@bluestriped bee: Yeah, I'd have been annoyed by that too! Though I'm not certain whether that's directly related to alcohol or just to not really listening to what you were saying!

@bluestriped bee: My memories with alcoholism include a parent always having a can in hand. It doesn't sound like your DH, but there are also different forms. It could be fine, but your comfort is what matters most, so say something if you feel uneasy.

@IRunForFun: He is responsible, although, since I'm the non-drinker, I'm always the one that drives him home. If I was a bigger drinker, I might suggest that he limit his drinking and drive me home, but I could go a few months without a drink.

@IRunForFun: Yeah, good point. I'll ask him today if he heard me when I told I was tired.

I have a glass of wine a night, and he'll have a couple glasses.

1-2. Depends on what it is.....two small cocktails, a large dark beer, etc. We'll split a bottle of wine on weekends sometimes.

I think the issue I would have here is that you wanted to leave and DH kept going and blatantly ordered more. Shots plus beer, to me, is a party type of night out.

@bluestriped bee: honestly, it does seem like maybe you are more upset that he didn't listen to you wanting to go home right away vs the alcohol. I would have been annoyed too, maybe he didn't understand?

My DH doesn't drink every day, but he drinks often and quite a bit. I'd say he has around 3 drinks a day, 5 days a week. It doesn't bother me now, but it might when LO comes along.

I don't drink nearly as often, but when I do I probably have 3-4 drinks. I probably won't drink as much as long as I am still nursing.

We don't really drink at home just hte two of us. Very rarely I'll have a glass of wine after LO goes to bed or he will have a couple beers when watching sports but thats it.

We do enjoy going out with friends every once in awhile to a bar and will partake in more than a few drinks, but that happens rarely. DH used to drink a lot and I did not like it so he's really pulled the reins back for me and his family.

We used to have a drink or two with dinner most nights but that was impacting our waistline more than anything else. We cut out the mid week drinking and will usually have a few cocktails on the weekends. If we're out to dinner, we'll split a bottle of wine and maybe have a cocktail. It all depends on whether we have to drive somewhere.

It depends on a lot of factors, but I average 1 beer or 1 glass of wine and he will usually have 2. The size of the beer really depends on the style- if it is a Belgian then it is smaller but stronger, if it is a wheat then it is considerably larger but weaker.

It depends on our plans for the next day and driving home as well as where my husband's blood glucose is that day (diabetic). We usually have at least 1 drink 3-4 nights a week.

At home we each have one drink (glass of wine or a beer) with dinner. Probably 3x a week I also have a second drink (wine or beer) later in the evening. My husband also does on weekends.

When we go out we usually order a cocktail before dinner/ with apps and a glass of wine with dinner. We used to split a bottle with dinner, but my tolerance is shot and neither of us gets enough sleep.

Mr. T often (5 days a week, maybe?) has one beer after supper. I drink one beer maybe once every two months, or one glass of wine in the same time-frame (so I average one drink total every two months or so, but the type varies). We're not much for drinking. I have never, ever seen Mr. T drink more than about three beers (he's a beer guy).

We usually each have 1-2 drinks a night, either beer or wine. Lately, it's been 2 drinks most nights. We used to drink more on the weekends (before LO) but not as much anymore.

With an LO who wakes up at the crack of dawn all the time, it's hard to want to drink a lot these days. I would say we each drink 1-2 at home, and probably 2 the rare chances we go out.

DH doesn't drink at all. When not pregnant I drink mostly at social gatherings, not usually if it is just the 2 of us (although admittedly-- if my husband drank wine I'd be a lot more inclined to drink more often. I just hate opening a bottle just for me). When I drink it is usually wine, usually 1 glass-- sometimes 2. Almost never more than 2. I have a low tolerance and I really don't enjoy feeling tipsy or drunk.

Lately my husband has been pouring only 1 glass of wine at dinner, and we both sip out of it. I'm EBF right now though. In normal times, we may have 1-2 glasses of wine at dinner a few times per week. These are fairly normal sized glasses and they are filled at max half full for each serving.

I can't afford the calories in alcoholic drinks, so usually a glass if wine if we are out to dinner. Nothing at home.
