4 so far just on DH's side. His sister has 4 LO's. My brother and sister are still young (20) so none from them yet! Hopefully in the future though!
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
0 but six siblings yet to have kids and I know that most of them probably will have at least one at one point.
pomelo / 5298 posts
5 cousins and 2 step cousins.
2 of the cousins and the 2 step cousins are adults, and we don't see them (ever!). The remaining 3 live in another state and are 7-14 years older.

Zero, we are the first (only) of our sibs to get married & have babies.
LO has a bunch of second cousins or once removed; I'm not sure the correct term, but he has little relatives.
kiwi / 656 posts
2 step cousins right now, and 2 "cousins" who are my bff's girls. I imagine we will eventually have 2-3 blood cousins on my husband's side, but not any time soon.
persimmon / 1096 posts
One, but she's DH's stepsister's daughter so we hardly ever see her (and she's 6ish years older).
Other than that, DH is an only child so zero on his side and my 2 brothers are a long way away from having kids so my LOs are definitely going to be much older than any future cousins. Such a bummer! I grew up surrounded by cousins close in age, the holidays were so much fun when we were little.

My LOs got two new cousins (twins) today! It's so exciting!
Now there are 3 on my side and 2 on DH's side. My side is definitely done. Not sure about DH's side though, I know there is talk of a 3rd kid for the couple that has them already and my other BIL isn't even in a relationship, so who knows what the future will hold.

2 boys on each side. But then my side, we also have my cousin's kids, which are like cousins cause we are all really close, so that is 9 more. Then I have 3 cousins that still want to have kids.
pomegranate / 3350 posts
3 cousins that we see for a couple weeks at a time 1-2 times a year. I wish we lived closer and could see them more often!
They also have several step-cousins and second cousins but we really don't see them much either.

She only has 4, and that's all she'll ever have. BIL & SIL have 4 kids and are done (DH's only sibling). My brother didn't have any children and has passed away, and my sister won't be having any children (she's older and her boyfriend had 2 kids already and had a vasectomy - that said, it is still possible for her to have children, but she doesn't want to anyway). It makes me sad because I have a bunch of cousins from both sides of my family!

None right now, I could maybe see 2 someday but probably 7 years off. My brothers I don't see having kids (they're almost 29 and just moved out of my parents house) and for my DH's brothers (3 of them) I don't think 2 want kids and the 3rd is only 24 so I think he might have some eventually but not for quite a while.

LO has 1 first cousin (on DH's side). I think that's going to be it for her.
DH has a cousin that is only 8 years older than LO so she calls him her cousin and they adore each other.
I have a few cousins close to LO's age so she calls them her cousins too and they get along great. And a few of my cousins have kids but we aren't close to them.

One on each side and that's it. 2 and 5 years older than my oldest, a girl and a boy.
bananas / 9227 posts
Just 1. And she may only have 1 since my bro and BIL don't even have gfs. But she has a few second cousins and a ton of god siblings, which I count as cousins
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
4 on D's side and 16 on my side. They only see the ones on D's side, though.
pomelo / 5257 posts
Zero! We both have one sibling, but they're unmarried/no kids. Our cousins have kids, though, so I guess they have five....second cousins? Or something?
kiwi / 641 posts
None- and it could be that way for a long time! I'm an only and DH only has a younger brother (who is not likely the type to settle down anytime soon).
persimmon / 1196 posts
Only 2 first cousins (1 and 5 years older than LO), and they do not live nearby. That's probably all she will ever have.
LO has 15 second cousins and counting. Some of them live nearby and will probably be as close as I was to my cousins growing up.
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
None yet DH is an only child and my sister is young and unmarried/no kids.
kiwi / 506 posts
They currently have 2. My niece is one day shy of a year older than my son and my nephew is 8 months younger than my younger son.
They should have many cousins eventually. My husband is one of three and I'm one of five.

LOs have three cousins on my side and two cousins from DH's side (more like DH's cousin's kids).
eggplant / 11716 posts
Our girls have 9 first cousins--6 on my side and 3 on DHs side. My side, the cousins are all much older. On DH's side, they are 8,6, and 9 months and our kids are almost 2 and 10 months, so they all like playing together.
pineapple / 12053 posts
0 at this point. Hopefully some soon by SIL and then probably at some point with our remaining unmarried siblings.
clementine / 911 posts
She just has my brother's 2 kids.
We see them every month to 2 months, so I'm hoping she and her cousin that is only 3 months younger than her will end up being close (They're still infants.)
Sometimes it makes me kind of sad because I grew up with lots of cousins, but on the other hand I didn't see mine quite as often.
pear / 1648 posts
ZERO so far! Which is so weird to be because I have almost 50 cousins myself.
DH is an only child, so no hope there, but I do have 2 unmarried siblings who may give us cousins in the future... They'll likely be much younger than our kid(s) though!
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
2- and that's all there will be... But they see them a lot. We live a few miles away so see each other every couple of weeks or so. They are much older (8 & 10 versus mine who are 3 & 6 months) but still close.
pomegranate / 3706 posts
Only 1 first cousin, but a TON of second cousins because I have 13 first cousins, and most of them have 4 kids each.
pomelo / 5621 posts
5 first cousins. Two are older teenagers that we haven't seen since he was a baby. 3 are younger and he adores them all and loves being the big cousins.
He has lots of second cousins but we don't get to see them very often, only a couple times a year.
I don't think he'll get any more first cousins.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
1 as of right now from BIL. He's 8 years old compared to my oldest who's almost 3. My younger brother isn't married yet so who knows if he'll have kids or how many when he does!
pear / 1809 posts
None! And I'm not sure how many they will have, but I don't think it will be a lot. Maybe 4?
apricot / 444 posts
4, all on my side. DH's sister is getting married soon and they're talking about kids, so hopefully soon-ish on his side.
I only had one first cousin, so it's so fun to see dd with her family!
pomelo / 5791 posts
0 on my side. 2 on DH's side from his 1/2 brother. So....two 1/2 cousins? Lol, is that even a thing?
