In the US, I've found that one kiss on the cheek in greeting is sufficient. When I lived in the UK, it was a little confusing on whether the other person was going to do one or two. Some Europeans did three!
Do you kiss friends? How many kisses?

One kiss on the cheek for most friends.
I find that my gay men, Spaniard or wannabe Spaniard friends do two kisses, haha.

Just once. I always find it awkward though, when one person is doing the kiss thing while the other meant to hug! We need a standard American greeting

Okay, so they're almost always air kisses (rarely does anyone I know actually get my cheek and I aim for about an inch away from their cheek), but pretty much everyone does 2. Sometimes someone will throw me off and do 3. I've almost run into some very unfortunate situations as a result of this 3 kisses business. No one does 1.
I didn't grow up in a place where greeting kisses are common, so it took some getting used to, but now that I'm acclimated, I like it better than a handshake or a hug.

I don't kiss friends, only hugs! But where my in law family lives, it's customary to kiss both sides. So awkward.

None! I would be a little thrown if one of my friends kissed me just to say hello. Just hugs

None. And I really hope no one ever tries that. It weirds me out enough when my mom kisses me. Kisses are for husband and babies, like those above.

I do one but I'm not a touchy-feely person either so I only do so if the other person initiates!

0. I'm not even big on hugs! One of DH's friends does the kiss on the cheek thing to me and I cannot STAND it!

0 kisses from me. I have some friends and even my husband's boss who likes to do the whole light kiss on the cheek, but those few and far between people are just like that. And the boss thing isn't as weird as it sounds lol we are quite close.

I'm with those who said just a hug. If one of my friends kissed me on the cheek I would be totally like, "What are you doing right now?" LOL. Definitely not a thing here.

No kisses, just hugs.
I kiss, one kiss, in business sometimes. It's the Latin influence. I have learned to stay clear of my Peruvian co worker around mixed company. People automatically kiss her and then I guess they think I feel left out. Nope, I was cool with a handshake!
