I sized up when getting J snow pants this year so hopefully they fit him next year. He is in 2T but I bought 3T. The tag on the 3T snowpants say 28.5-32.5 lbs. He is 30 lbs at 33 months. I thought a 4 lb range seemed really small for a toddler - do toddlers/preschool age children gain less than 4 lbs in a year? I thought it was more.
At his 2 year well child check he was 26.6 lbs, at his last sick visit (end of October, so 32 months) he was 30.4 lbs. So definitely over 4 lbs a year for him.

I think K gained maaayybe 1 lb between 2-3 years, but maybe that's not normal!

My lo gained 10 lbs between 1-2 years. She's 27 months now and hasn't really gained anything the last 3 months

B gained 6 pounds from 2.5-3.5. Then he gained another 5 from 3.5 to 4.5 and has stayed the same weight for a year.
E was on the higher percentile range at her 2 year appt (80th) but hasn't gained since, in the past half year.
Both are so different!

My little guy has gained much more than. 4 pounds but he was failure to thrive so he is catching up still. At 3.5 he just moved out of 24 month pants and into 2t pants. He still occasionally wears 18 month and up shorts. 3t are often still big but not too big right now. I don't know his weight but I tried buying up and there is no hope for 4t pants anytime soon. The clothes we bought last year on Black Friday still for and I expect will through the season and then he will size up next fall again.

@yellowbird: I knew that from 0-1 (obviously) and 1-2 the weight gain is substantial - then they kind of hit a peak and it slows down quite a bit. I just wasn't really sure how much it slows down!
@HLK208: that's super interesting! So has B been in the same size for quite sometime? I have started buying a mix of 3T as well even though he fits 2T perfectly, but I have no idea how long it will take him to move to 3T!

DS has been the same weight (25ish lbs) since 6 months he's 14 months now and has been growing up but hasn't gained weight,

From 1 to 2 = about 7.5lbs
From 2 to 3 = about 6.5lbs
From 3 to (almost) 4 = about 4lbs
He has always been close to the top of the curve though.

Ds weighed 31.5 lbs at his two yr well check last week. Weve been weighing him at home since 18 months though and he was hovering around 30//31 lbs the last few months. Def think the wt gain is slowing down, will be interesting to see this next year

She was 19 lbs at 1 year, 24 lbs at 2 years, and is now 25 lbs at almost 31 months.

@Mrs. Pen: B is growing like a weed in height so he's just long and lean but has always been on the smaller side for clothes...from 2-3.5, he wore 2T, from 3.5-4.5, he wore 3T, etc.

C had gained 5lbs and 5" in the last year (18m-2.5) and has gone from 24m sizes to 3t/4t.
