Hi ladies! I'm due with a little girl in May. I never followed any suggestions for clothes for my son but man its easy to buy girl stuff!
What did you use for guidelines on buying clothes? How many outfits or pants and shirts, and sleepers for each size? Newborn obviously just a few.
My girl will be delivered no later then 36 weeks because of ICP. However my son was also born early and huge!

I actually had to buy more newborn outfits bc everyone tells me not to and no one gifts nb size! My girl came out 6 lbs 4 oz and at almost 4 weeks she is def still in nb size. I have like ~ 8 sleepers.. Change once a day sometimes more.

How often do you want to do laundry? Plan for 2-3 for each day (yay for vomit and blowouts!).

@loveisstrange: that's the thing my son was not a pooper or a puker! But that's a good point cause this one could be!
@snowjewelz: sorry! I meant to say I will get some NB, especially since im delivering early. But I probably won't buy as many as the bigger sizes!

I was worried about this because #1 was a girl and #2 is a boy, so I bought a bunch of stuff for him, and I wish I hadn't!
People gave me SO MANY clothes for him...since its your second and you don't need as much practical stuff / have a shower that is really the only thing people gift you, and it is seriously out of control how many clothes this boy has!

I like to have at least 4 in each size, so I am not constantly doing laundry. I think I had 6, truth be told.

@HappyBaker: I'm not anticipating many gifts and def not a baby shower since it's my second and our first is only 1. Our families just aren't those kind of people that send gifts all the time? So I'm expecting to buy most of the clothes. But I'll be doing second hand stuff.

@snowjewelz: So weird--I got almost ALL newborn sized stuff at my showers. I think my friends and family were distracted by the adorable tiny-ness! Haha.

I had a ton in 0-3 month for some reason with LO#1 but not much in NB. She was tiny but if I ran out of NB then I just let her hang out in a baggy 0-3 month sleeper. I'm having twins this time and one's a boy so I've been in the same boat. I think I have 3 in NB and then some patterned onesies and pants and then 6 in 0-3 month because I just feel like they hang out in that size forever and I'm still too lazy at that stage to put them in real outfits so lots of sleepers it is.
I like to buy the Gerber 3 pack of zip up sleepers though. They are light and cotton and zip! (we struggle with snaps in this house) and really affordable.

@BabyPenguinXO: also people have me SO much clothes post birth. I bought a ton of clothes but kept tags on till I needed them.
