Since we have been using cloth wipes for a while now and we'll be using disposable wipes when we go home for 17 days, I need to figure how how many packs I should buy. I know I'll need double with twins and probably use like 4-5 wipes for a poopy diaper. Should I buy a case of 7 for $10 from Amazon and give the packs away to my SIL or sister. Or just buy a few packs and buy more if we need them. How much is a pack of wipes? Isn't it like $2.50 a pack, so it's cheaper to just get it from Amazon and give the packs away?

we use about 1 pack a month - but why buy more if you don't need it?

We got through tons and tons (at least I feel like we do)! Probably 2 of the largest refill packs ($15, 8 packs, 736 wipes) at Target a month? We use them for lots of things though...

@bebe211: Because its sounds like it's cheaper and I can definitely give them to my SIL or sister who can use it. Also, we'll be flying in on Christmas eve. (Though we do have disposable wipes to hold us over for a few days.) I'm having diapers being shipped to DH's uncles house which we'll be seeing on Xmas eve. I figure I could have wipes shipped at the same time.
Oh, plus, I would hate to load both kids up for a trip to get wipes. I'm hoping a case of 300 diapers is enough for our trip. I gotta get used to driving to the store for diapers and wipes.

@bluestriped bee: Oh yeah, I'd for sure just ship some then. I use the Amazon Elements wipes, they're not bad! I can't calculate how much we go through b/c I have a pack in my diaper bag, one in the dining room and one in her room for diaper changes.

We go through a little less than a case per month - but my daughter always needs a wipe to "clean up" or change her baby doll's diaper, so I am sure we waste a lot. I would just have a case shipped and give the rest away or leave them for next time.

We buy enough for a few days and get more on the trip if needed. Probably go through 2 large packs a month? Really just guessing though!

With two in diapers, I was going through about 7 packs a month.

@bluestriped bee: for sure just ship a box, and take a travel package for the plane (Huggies has a nice soft sided that are easy to throw in) No need to fly with a bunch of them, less to worry about!

We have 3 open packs at any time (diaper bag, living room, and bedroom). I'd guess we go through 2-3 a month.

A pack lasts us about a week.

We have been going through a case a month. Some of you are much better about this than I am! I like to order things off amazon to my parents house before I get there.

I think you will probably be more judicious with wipes than the typical non cloth wipe user. You are probably used to getting the most out of your cloth wipe (less laundry), so you wouldn't be inclined to grab just a hand full of wipes for 1 diaper.
We go through probably a pack a month. We have several packs stashed in different places, though, so it's hard to say.
