Just curious. I feel like we have a lot for how little she plays with it. We have about 50 pieces plus a tea set, a birthday cake set and various plates/cups.

We have a lot, but I don't want to count it because that would mean an organizing binge involving the retrieval of play food from upstairs, outside an other various stashes. (see my thread called does it drive you nuts?)

@Mrs. Jacks: haha. Yes this was an organizing effort so I figured I would lay it all out. She loved "shopping" with all the food out.

100 just bought a basket full of food. I dread when I find all 100 pieces all over the house

I have a ton, but most of it is put away at once. My daughter was loving dumping the whole basket out on the kitchen floor, and I was not loving stepping around it while I cooked. So I put most of it away, and now she just plays with a few at a time. She doesn't seem to mind, and I much prefer it.

Maybe 10. I never bought a real set. She plays with her kitchen infrequently. Sometimes I wonder if I bought more food, she might play more?

Um, too many? I'm addicted to buying wooden food. I love it more than the kids! We have about 50 odd pieces not including the Melissa and Doug pizza set and birthday cake set, which prob get the most use.

We have around 25 - some melissa and doug wood food and some packaging from real food that became toys. She plays with all of it a lot.
@T.H.O.U.: "Shopping" for all of the food is one of my LO's favorite activities. She asks me to "set up grocery store" pretty much every day.

I took her play food away. I've only left the felt food in her kitchen. She has the Ikea Duktig vegetable and breakfast set (~25 pieces). But I've kept the cool crocheted pastries (20 pieces) in a plastic bin (although she whines for me to open it, but I sneak them back in when she's not looking). I also bought a bunch of plastic dim sum pieces that I haven't given to her (25 pieces).
I'm waiting until she's a little older. Right now it would just be scattered everywhere. Picking up all the Duplo pieces is enough.

We have a ton. Her kitchen is full, plus we have a grocery cart that is full. She loves to play tea party in the kitchen and make cookies

I would say 20 including plates and pots. She has a picnic set and a felt fruit set. I want more! But they're expensive and hard to come by on resale sites bc most people when they sell want to sell with the kitchen.

@SugarplumsMom: there was a wok set on MyHabit a few weeks back. I was sooooo tempted to buy it! Next time I'm getting it!

@808love: It is!!! I really want to get that and the sushi set.

Not that much, honestly. I think we have some pieces of a set of 100 that I bought for him, plus the felt fruits and vegetables sets from IKEA.
He's not that into the play food, other than the cut apart ones. Everything else is ignored.

The kids are not that into to the kitchen at my mom's house, so we only have the ones that came with it. At my house, we don't ahve a kitchen, only a "cupboard" and we have maybe 20 pieces of cutting fruit and a breakfast set. They haven't seemed to want more so I'm stopping at that for now.
