My LO had two ice days last week and one today, they don't go to school on Fridays and they had yesterday off. There's a half day Thursday so no school for her again. With all these extra snow/ice days (they had a few over the last few months) I feel like she's barely there!
Has your LO had a lot of snow days? Is it a pain for your schedule when there's a snow day?

None! We've had a few days with snow and ice, but they manage it really well and transit works. I'm not even sure if they do snow days here. Our first winter we got something like 15 inches in one night and the whole city was operational the next day.

@lamariniere: yeah I think today's was a stretch, it was called at 4:30 for ice but DH went to work at 6:15 and said it was mostly just wet.

We had one day where they closed early to allow teachers to get home ahead of rush hour traffic, but that was it. The schedule you described would be a nightmare for a household with two working parents!

A lot of snow days here- she only goes two days so she's just missed 2 days and a delay on a third. I think the district has had 8 cancelled or delayed days including today.
It's been the worst winter in the NW that I ever remember

Zero. We almost never get snow here, but when we do, school is closed for like a week (we had some ice a couple weeks ago, but it was over the weekend and LO goes to preschool Tues-Thurs).
He did miss a few days for a hurricane earlier in the school year.

We haven't had any snow yet, although we don't normally! Fingers crossed because I would love lo to discover the snow!

Zero - but only because she's in a private center on my work campus. We have on-site private plow people so the roads at the center/work are always clear and we never close and the center's policy is if we are open, they are open.
Snow days wouldn't be a pain for the most part, as my husband is a professor so if LO had a snow day, he would have one too, and I can work from home whenever I need to.

9!!! The PNW has been hit really hard, and our city is completely unprepared. We did the math: kids have only gone to school 5 of the last 34 weekdays. We pay full tuition for all breaks and snow days. So yes, these days impact our finances and work schedules in a major way.

zero so far here in Boston! I'm happy but also remembering that this is how the record breaking 110+ inches winter started off too... fingers crossed that doesn't happen again!

None so far. We've had some significant snow on the weekend, but roads are cleared by Monday, thank goodness.

My LO isn't in school yet but I live in NC and a snow storm came through a couple weeks ago. We don't get much snow so when it does everyone freaks out. It snowed Friday and stopped saturday morning. We got 6 inches, places further south got about 3 inches and school was closed monday/tuesday and 1/2 day wed which I thought was excessive since I was out and about sunday and the roads were fine but apparently there was still ice in the parking lots of the school.
