In New York City, Fall seems to start in mid September. It suddenly gets chilly and then shortly after, the leaves start to change color (that part hasn't started yet). Then all the leaves fall off and it gets even colder, and then I start missing the hot hot summers!
In general, the entire Fall season seems to last anywhere from 3 weeks to 8 weeks. Who knows though lately, as it seems like every year is dramatically different with the weather.

Around September it starts and lasts maybe till mid October, but it gets pretty cold after that

Here in south Texas we don't have Fall. We have summer, kinda winter, and pre-summer. 2 1/2 seasons, that's it. lol

Fall in Nashville is wonderful. It varies but usually starts in late Sept and goes through mid December. And let's be honest even when "winter" does start its quite mild. Just don't tell the southerners that 2 inches of snow isn't a snow storm!

in so cal, maybe a couple months? it's all very confusing. i would say by mid-october it's cooling down regularly (although halloween tends to be hot!) and then cool through december. but i do know that i've gone to the beach almost every year in january and laid out.... so i don't know what season that is.

Florida doesn't have any real season but summer. We all like to pretend when it hits like 75 degrees that it's fall and we all talk about how we're freezing and how we love sweater weather. But really, it'll go below 80 like 3 days in a row and then it's hot as balls again. Same thing happens in winter. It'll freeze one night and the hit 85 the following day.

Southwestern PA is pretty similar to NY starting in mid Septemberish through mid to late November. Although I do remember snow in October or November in the past

Michigan is never consistent...but last year it started mid-end Sept. and stayed like that until first week of December. I remember only wearing sweaters around that first week and we didn't have a white Christmas. Mid-December to end of march it's freezing...with snow obviously.
I love that we had a long fall and hope for another long one!

@bree72: I came to FL in Feb and was shocked. You're Feb is like our July. When we got home, we walked out to our car which was in the "short-term" parking of the airport and it was snowed in and had frozen windows! I was like....I want Florida weather baaaack! wahhhh

I think we get good fall weather from end of sept to early nov? but sometimes we get snow in oct too!

I'd say fall is almost upon us here in west Texas where we have 4 distinct seasons!
