@ldh112: I also remember questioning this when my lo was a infant! I went by weeks. On August 24th she'll be 2 months but almost 10 weeks. I think it's just up to you and whatever you prefer.. I may have followed weeks because I also watched milestones, leaps and such...

@ldh112: So both are true. She is 8 weeks old today but 2 months on Monday. I counted weeks because I liked too but gave her age in months after 2 months because no one else really cares that much!

I pay attention to both. But when other people ask, I give her age in months because no one but me really cares about the exact number of weeks.

Weeks for the fourth trimester and months after that. Now at 7 months I have no idea how many weeks she is.

@rattles: Same! Weeks until 12 weeks (especially because 12 weeks was the end of my maternity leave), and then months after that.

I hated counting weeks so even early on I try to just say months after the 1st month!

I counted both weeks and months up to a year, but when people asked me how old DS was I only told them in weeks up until 12, then switched to months.
