We took LO to a barber shop for his haircut last time and it cost $12. I wasn't entirely thrilled about the haircut he got but a place that is closer to us charges $20 for kids cuts. That's a significant price difference. His hair just needs to be trimmed/cleaned up, but he doesn't want me to cut his hair anymore. He loved his barbershop experience because he wants to be like daddy. Perhaps, I should be more pushy about how I want his hair to look when I take him back to the other place next time.

This past weekend, I paid $19 + $5 tip for DD's first haircut at a kiddie salon. In NYC, we used to pay about $30 + tip.

$0. Twice I took her with me to my barber lady while I got a haircut and she trimmed her hair for free. Lately, my husband does the trimming and it actually looks pretty good.

It's $25 at a kids salon and they are the only place that does it right! DH's barber gets annoyed when I take DS there and she doesn't do a decent job.

I think $18 + tip. It's taken me FOREVER to find someone that can cut G's hair right so I'm fine with the cost.... before I'd take him somewhere cheaper & then often have to take him somewhere else to get it fixed (which would be more like a "that's fine" as opposed to "fixed" fixed). His hair is so weird to cut!

LO is still young so he doesn't care how his hair looks. We bought a pair of clippers to trim his hair at home. Surprisingly he takes well to it. I thought the clipper sound would freak him out.

We bring LO to a kiddie salon and pay about $15+tip. Definitely worth it because both DH and I do a horrible job trimming his hair.

@keiki_mama: I've always cut his hair myself in the past. I just wanted him to try the barber experience. Now he doesn't want me to do it anymore.

$20 plus tip at pigtails and crewcuts. We did the first haircut package there and have been back twice since. The first haircut package was $25.

I cut it myself. The first time I gave her a mullet accidentally but since then it's been a lot better.

@Maysprout: I've gotten a lot better with my hair cutting skills too. I watched a bit of videos on it. If I can get them to sit still for 10 minutes, I can do a pretty decent job.

@BoogieBea: Seriously! G's hair used to be easy, but his bio-dad shaved it one time (I was fuming) and since then he has weird cowlicks! It's worth it to me to pay more!

I want to take him to a kids place nearby, but my SIL used to cut hair for a living, so my husband wants her to do it. I'd be willing to spend around $20, but I guess free is good (if she can get him to sit still).

We live in Vienna and there is a chain place called DM that cuts kid's hair for free until they are 3! In the US I paid about $15 and in France about €12.
Also, we are traveling in Asia right now and DH, DS and I all got a haircut together for $10 total!
Oh well.
