I switched to plain coffee instead of lattes, and cut my costs way down. Now I'm considering cutting out all coffee entirely, as part of our family effort to be more frugal.
How much do you spend on coffee a day (or a month)?

We buy Peet's coffee (I think it's a 1lb package?) - it's about $10/package. We go through about 1 every 2 weeks.

I used to spend almost $4 every single (work)day....so, $20 a week, plus whatever coffee we bought for the keurig at home for the weekends. It was a lot of money!!!
Now that I'm pregnant, I spend $0 on coffee. I miss my americana's.

Before i started making coffee at home, i was spending $50/month. DH was also spending around that much per month! Once we switched over to making coffee st home, that dropped to $20/month (for the both of us) for a bag of beans and the occasional coffee purchased when we are out.
I dont think you need to cut out coffee in order to be frugal. Would making it at home cut down costs quite a bit?
Eta: i actually dont drink coffee daily anymore, so i guess you can say it has gone down even more, but i spend about $8/month on tea!

$0 for me but DH buys coffee on every work day.

I usually only drink it at home. We spend $12 on 2# usually once a month, but sometimes twice.

$0 for me since I dont drink coffee. At one point i used about $2.5 to get a hot chocolate from dunkin but I realized it was a bit wasteful so instead I buy swiss miss hot cocoa which is about $2 for the whole box

I used to spend $1.62 on coffee, but I didn't get it every day. I go through spurts where I get it every day for a week then cut it cold turkey for couple weeks. Rinse and repeat. Now that I have to monitor my caffeine intake, I haven't gotten coffee in awhile!

We buy a box of beans from TJ's every week (we keep one caff/one decaff on hand, and I am currently drinking half caff). So we spend $8 a week or $32 a month--in comparison to when I used to buy a latte every weekday at $4, the month's total was $80...so making it at home definitely saves!

DH uses a Keurig but recently got a reusable K-cup filter so he can use his normal coffee again instead of always buying K-cups. I'm not sure how much he spends though.
I spend none because I have never liked coffee.

We buy an 80 pack of Keurig pods from Costco every 2 months(ish) for $40. So $20 a month isn't bad (plus the cost of half and half), especially because I have to have my daily coffee!
I used to go to Starbucks weekly for client meetings, but almost never go anymore since I moved into an actual office space!

Not sure how much we spend at home, but I might buy a cup of coffee at a coffee shop once a week, if that. I never buy latte's cause they are expensive and full of calories! I might buy that sort of thing 3x/year as a treat.

I buy tea at work and it gets expensive ($1.25/cup or $1 for refills). At two per day it adds up a lot. I try to make it at home and bring it in to work.

Thanks to P's coffee intolerance, I've spent about 10 bucks on 2 boxes of Starbucks via in the last 8.5 months. I still have almost all of it.

We just got a nespresso machine when they were on sale. My lattes now cost only 60 cents for the coffee pod + milk.

I will indulge in an almond milk latte maybe once or twice a month. DH is a big coffee drinker, he is usually at Tim Hortons at least once a day and he has probably half a pot of coffee at home. He says that my non-coffee drinking makes up for the cost of his coffee drinking.

I only make coffee at home so probably $7 a month for a whole huge container. They have so many flavored creamers these days you can make it taste like gourmet coffees. I could never spend $5 a day on a cup of coffee.

Why don't you just make it at home? We stock up at Costco. I don't know of the $ breakdown but it's gotta be a lot cheaper. Plus, I would have to drive to a coffee place so it saves me gas/time, too, making coffee at home!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
I make it at home every day and drink it while getting ready for work. I treat myself to a latte once a week or so.

I spend around $50 a month on coffee. I just can't drink coffee made from home. It just tastes so much better when it's from a coffee shop!

i get 2 large iced coffees (at least) & 2 chocolate timbits a day from Tim Hortons which comes out to 5.26$.
i know its a lot but gah! i do love them so.

We make it at home in our French press and I would say we spend about $15-20 per month. I love getting coffee from coffee shops, but we try to limit that to an occasional weekend thing to save money. Plus, we just moved to the suburbs and there's not much temptation in the way of coffee (it's all Starbucks/Dunkin Donuts) the way there was in NYC.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
About 20/month from Dunkin donuts, and then 10/month whole beans to make at home and work.

We usually make our own coffee at home (Folgers). We go to Starbucks maybe 2-3x per month to get specialty lattes...soo...between $20-$30/month.

I spend about $50 a month on kcups for keurig, and about another $40 a month at Starbucks... YIKES! (

Ummm $5-$10. I stop by Starbucks about once a month.

Coffee makes me sick these days (headache and nausea), so I don't really buy it anymore. If I am really wanting one, I will go to McD's and get a $1 Newmans Own Organic decaf. It's literally a minute from our apartment. I do that maybe twice a month.
nectarine / 2690 posts
Most of the time I drink coffee at work. So all I pay for is my creamer - so about $3.50 every two weeks or so.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
We buy expensive coffee at home and have a really fancy coffee maker. It takes us awhile to go through it all! Maybe $20/month, tops. Maybe.
Now that I'm drinking juice (i have to mix a medicine into it every day) instead of coffee, I feel like THAT is far more expensive! A $4 bottle of juice doesn't make it a week!
grapefruit / 4235 posts
Probably $17 a month on K-Cups and $5 or so on flavored creamers - about $22/mo for both of us to have coffee at home?
I also have a drip coffeemaker for when I have company, and asked for a refillable K Cup for christmas, so the cost should go down somewhat.
pomegranate / 3580 posts
I use my coffee pot 3 to 4 days a week, buying a pound every three weeks or so at approx. $8/bag. I also get lattes once or twice a week as treat.
Since I only make a 1/4 pot of coffee, I'm hoping "Santa" (DH) brings me a Keurig this Christmas. I want to get the reusable Keurig cups that let you use your own ground coffee.
pomegranate / 3032 posts
@JennyLayneAZ: same here... our office has a keurig and they buy the kcups so i just bring in creamer. At home we go through about 3-4 boxes of kcups a month ($40) Hubs makes his coffee at home in the am and we sometimes have cups at night or on weekends.
