the pizza delivery guy?

$2-3 but we very rarely get delivery and they're usually only driving like 5 minutes.

$3-5, depending on how much we order. I'm probably over-tipping them...

Usually around $5, depending on how much we order. My mom likes to tip A LOT, though...anywhere from $10-$20, and once $40 (on a $40ish order). She says she likes to brighten someone's day.

Usually $2 to $4 bucks. We get delivery like twice a year so we don't really have a usual.

Usually $6-10. I've been told we over tip, but we rarely have pizza delivered and I doubt they're making a killing or anything.

We never get pizza delivered anymore because the restaurant was charging a $5 delivery fee plus I still felt like I had to tip the delivery guy, and it was adding up to too much considering that the pizza place is 5 minutes away. I'll only pay so much to be lazy.

@erinbaderin: haha exactly! After a certain dollar amount my DH would just get in the car and go get it!

Well, my husband runs a pizza place, so I tip delivery drivers really well. At least 20% for sure, but often more. Occasionally when there is an unexpected rush at night my DH will have to take a few deliveries since we live right next to his store, and I'll ride with him just to hang out. You won't believe how cheap some people are. I try to compensate with my tips for the people that under tip or stiff them.

usually 3 bucks for our normal order, which is like 15-18%

@TrailRunner: what do you consider cheap?
I'm probably cheap but I really don't understand the need to tip the delivery driver 15-20%. At a restaurant where they are serving me, yes. But the driver is picking up the order, putting it in their car and driving less than 5 minutes to my house and then walking it to my door.
When it's winter I might tip another $1 on top of my usual $2-3. But again we only get delivery like 2-3x a year because there's usually a delivery charge then having to tip on top of it.

I like to give delivery people a 20% tip, it's a tough job. We order pizza every friday and it's worth it to me to keep them happy.

@TrailRunner: OK, that's just mean. That or no tips.

Yeah so pizza is $12 - that's all we get so 20% is only $2.40 - I usually plan to give 3 then do 4 because I feel cheap!

@Mamaof2: ah well in that case then 20% is totally doable.
My average order is $40! 20% is a $8 tip and a lot of times we have people over so the order is double that. I'm sorry but I'm not tipping the guy almost $20 for 15 minutes.

I never tip since we always order for pick up. Plus they all charge like 2$ for a delivery fee anyways.

We don't get delivery but if we did, I'd do 20% unless that was less than $3 or $4.

Keep in mind that delivery drivers aren't reimbursed for their gas or car maintenance - so that tips covers that. We always, without a doubt, tip 20% and then round up to the dollar.

Usually $5 or so, last time I ordered two pizzas so nothing crazy but it was about $30 and my husband wanted it from a specific place that isn't close so I tipped extra. I am not big on delivery though, it can get expensive with the delivery fee plus tip. My husband doesn't usually mind getting out of the house for 15 mins.
