I feel like I put in a decent amount of effort! We did a retro-robot theme so I got invites and matching decor (cupcake wrappers, water bottle labels, banners, etc) from Etsy. I also did a prinstagram garland around the main area and got robot-themed gifts for all the kids. I'm really happy with all the little details and how it turned out. Even though Xander won't remember it, I got lots of pictures!

@Danizaur: Do it!!! I definitely don't regret doing everything that I did! And Hubs didn't have to help, so he didn't really care. It was totally worth it to me to have all these matching little things.

I DIY'd all of the decorations for DD's 1st and put lot of time and effort into her party. We had it at a nice restaurant.

I spent little time on DS' decorations, but he had a nice party. We rented out our building's club room, catered food and ordered a nice cake for him.

we had a very small family gathering (4 guests). to make it a little more of an occasion, i sent out paperless post invitations (even though it was only to 4 people). i bought a dozen cupcakes. my mom borrowed a traditional korean outfit for LO that he wore for 5 minutes. i made fruit salad and grilled cheese. i bought two big helium balloons. that was it.

but i say, do what you want! i think it's festive and cute to go all out.

Kind of a lot....but I'm a "go big or go home" kind of person when it comes to entertaining. So.
