I use "free money" as my fun money fund. So if I want a Starbucks, I spend 15 minutes walking around Target collecting shopkick points and then use that to pay for my coffee.

Depends on the week/month. Some weeks I go without spending anything (except groceries). Everyone once in a while I go crazy buying shoes, clothes, make up, etc

I spend my fun money on eating out, which is expensive, fattening, but delicious! Unfortunately, I can't exactly afford to do this, but I've been super hungry these past few months.

Almost none. We don't have a category for any regular "fun" money in our monthly budget. The only time I spend money on non-necessities is if I somehow come into money not related to our paychecks (like if I get money for my birthday or another holiday or take on an odd job on the side...)

Not much. I stop at the coffee shop maybe 2-3x a month?

I try not to. We don't buy clothes very often and when we do it's essentials like undershirts or maternity pants. I did buy a pair of Toms last week with some Christmas money!

I do buy lunch out occasionally but I'm really trying to stop. I try just to get Starbucks if I have a gift card or something. We did go out for breakfast last week though! That was really fun.

I haven't had a haircut in 10 months. I should do that!

Too much, and I don't even know how. It just sneaks up on me. We don't really budget, though...I used to before we were married and for a year or so afterward, but I've fallen off the wagon and DH has no interest in setting up a budget. With daycare payments starting in March, the money available for fun spending is about to take a huge drop, though!

We each get a set amount of "personal" money per month to do as we please. We can roll it over from month to month if we intend to make a big (but not necessary) purchase. I use my "fun" money for dinner out with my friends (separate from our eating out budget since it's just me), crafting, yoga, etc. I appreciate having a set budget (and him having a set budget) but also the freedom to do whatever I want with that money.

A good amount. I'd say DH and I like nice things, but we're also very smart about how we buy things.

You get points for just walking in to some stores (45 for Target, usually) and then there are things you can scan inside the store for more points. Like, a certain type of toilet paper - scan the barcode and you get 50 points. Then you can use those points for all kinds of things, including Target and Starbucks gift cards. 500 points gets you $2.

$150/month goes into each of our his/hers fun money category. If we don't use it, it rolls over and accumulates. It's a good way for us to save up for things we really want!

Hardly any. Lol. Trying to budget ourselves to get a good savings built up.

@yoursilverlining, @looch, @mamamoose, ha totally joining your club. I like nice things. I'm far more selective now, though.

$180 but I save half of it on some months...other months I save 0. That includes clothes, food that's not groceries, treating my friends to meals and personal gifts.

I spend a lot/a little per week depending. Sometimes there is a great sale going on somewhere and I stock up on some clothes for next season for the kids and that can add up. But then there are weeks where I'm stuck in the house bc it's too cold so no money gets spent.

My personal philosophy is save some, spend some. It's all good.
