$14 per 3 hour session

$263/month for 3 hours, 3 times a week.

We went two different extremes. The church preschool we had him enrolled in (2 days from 9-12) was $150 per month (6.25 per hour). The school we are at now is a daycare. He goes 5 days per week from 7-1 and we pay $1020 (8.50 per hour).

@winniebee: haha I hadn't either until right now, but I realized I couldn't really compare the 3 hour program to the 6 hour program otherwise haha

Wah...this is one of those times I hate NYC. We pay $1200 per month for 2.5 hours, 4x a week. This is on par for other private preschools in our area.

We pay $400/month for 2 days from 8:30-6 (but I always pick her up earlier than that)

$1140 for 5 days 9 to 4 + another $400-500 a month for morning and afterschool. She's there 8:30 to 5:30/45.

@winniebee: that' pretty crazy too! The full day 5x a week program next year is 2k a month...we may do a half day because it's cheaper!

I think the preschools in my town depend on if it's half day, full day, if you need before and after care, etc.

Full day are roughly $2000-$2300/month but tuition based. Half days are generally around $1100-1200. Next year, my LO will get to start the public pre-k option, but before and after program together is more than $700/month and it still follows the school year schedule so it's not as great of a deal as I was hoping.

Dd is 2.5 and AF pre school at her daycare - we pay 250/week for 5 full days.

When she transitions to public pre-school (in one of the best districts in the state) it will be 702/month for 9a-3p

DS goes to a naeyc accredited preschool within a church MWF 9-1 September - May and it is $3300. We live in the Northeast. So, approx. $366/month

Ours is full time like daycare, open 7am-6pm and I pay $43/day.

3 hour sessions, 3 times a week - so 9 hours per week. We pay $400 / months. I think it works out to $12/hour. It's one of the most expensive in our area.

We pay I think $22 a day was what I figured out. This is twice a week for 2.5 hours and it's one of our cheaper options.

We are at a licensed church preschool/daycare (preschool til lunch time & then becomes daycare). She's there M-F, 8am-4pm. It's $600/month. We live on the CA central coast. We just moved here in July & were shocked how affordable childcare was compared to other living expenses!

Wow, these prices are insane!

Don't hate me but preschool here is free for all children from the time they turn three, 15 hrs/week, regardless of where you go, barring private/boarding schools. Religion affiliated schools (catholic schools, Church of England schools etc) are considered public schools so they are included in the free education provision. Additional hours are £4.50/hr (about $6/hr).
