I need at least 8 hours, preferably 9. It's not always easy to get though.
I dated a guy who only need about 5 or 6 hours. I was so jealous because it just gave him so much more time in the day to get things done!
With how difficult it's getting to balance work and school, I think I need to forfeit my 8+ hours and start getting up earlier to get more homework done.

I need about 8.5/9. If I have to get up early, I need more than that. Right now B is getting up around 745 and I go to bed around 1030 and I feel really good with that schedule.

I went through my teens and twenties feeling desperately fatigued - I thought it was normal - and then I had 3.5 months between jobs when I was 30 and felt AMAZING. The reason? I was getting 12-13 hours sleep a night. Now I know that I need a lot of sleep to feel fully rested. Needless to say, I feel pretty tired right now!!!

To feel my best 9-10. Lately I've been getting maybe 5/6? DH can be fine off 4/5. I have no idea how he does it.

i don't ever really feel rested (i have some health issues that cause that). i generally get 7 and i'm good, certain times of the month i require much more to function, like i'll crash for 10hrs, it's insane!

I really need 7 to feel fully functional. 8 and I feel great.
Before kids I thought I needed 8-9 funny how that works. My husbands alarm goes off at 545 so we try to go to sleep at 930.

Before LO it was 9 hours. Anything less & I was beat. Now I have learned to function fairly well on way less sleep. 6-7 hours is good enough for me. The biggest thing is consecutive sleep. An uninterrupted stretch would be blissful!

I honestly am not sure. I do okay if I get a 5 hour stretch without interruptions. Id say I average 5-6 total lately.

Since getting older I need at least 8 when I used to be good w/ like 6. With this said, I haven't had kids yet so down the road I'll probably be happy with like 4 lol!

I used to need 8-9 hours, but now with the baby if I get 6-7, I feel pretty good.

I need definitely at least 7-8 to function (though have on less) but to be happy I need about 9. I am never fully rested though 
I wake up too many times in the night.

I voted 9-10, but really it's more like 9.5-11. DH needs about 7, and yep, I'm jealous too. It's also REALLY frustrating because you get judged way more if you need a lot of sleep. I'm not just being lazy! It doesn't help that I'm a night owl. I'm at my most awake from 1pm to 11 or so. Which means I do best going to sleep around midnight and getting up no earlier than 10, preferably 11 or noon. That's a great way to get judged by pretty much everyone.

@Torchwood: I hear you! I don't tell people that on the days DH goes into work mid-late morning and I don't work, he lets me sleep in. Usually that means just until 9-9:30 but it feels sooooo good. I always tell him I feel bad and he should get a turn but he says he doesn't need it. It's usually about twice a week he lets me sleep longer and I just get so excited for those days. Ha! Then I have to transition back to getting up at 6 for work or school.

I need about 8 uninterrupted hours to feel completely like myself. I rarely get that any more though and it's so tough.
My husband is one of those 5-6 hours and he's good!
