We are visiting my parents who live closer to the equator than I'm used to, and we really slather the sunscreen on the kids. Plus we use rash guards and stick to the shade a lot. The locals pretty much laugh at us! But so far, no sunburns on the kids!! My neck got a little toasted today though... hope it doesn't develop into a burn! #probablywill
How much sunscreen do you use?

DD is 8 months if we go in pool or such during peak hrs 11-4
I put on about a tablespoon on each body party...each leg,arm,neck, back,belly,face....
I put it on 15mins before and again every 2 hrs
We also take many shade breaks!

Baby isn't here yet, but my husband burns easily and is a fanatic about sunscreen. If we're going to be out in the sun we use it on every inch of exposed skin, and my husband sets an alarm on his phone to go off every two hours to remind us to reapply. I imagine he will be similarly overprotective with baby.

We use a lot - I'm fair-skinned and don't tan. I just turn red. LO has red hair and fair skin, so we cover her up with rash guards and sunscreen and hats. The only time I'm a little more relaxed is when we go out to the beach at my parents before 10 or after 4. Then I just put it on her face and neck (and she's usually got her shoulders covered and wears a hat).

I've been pretty diligent about it with DD, but I recently had 2 basal cell carcinomas removed and am even more of a nut about it now. Plus rash guard, hats, shade, etc.

Unless we will be outside for more than an hour I usually don't worry about putting on sunscreen. If we are going to the beach or pool where the sun will be reflecting more on his skin I put sunscreen on once, about 15 minutes before we go outside. He wears a rash guard and swim trunks, so his exposed skin is pretty minimal. Fortunately he seems to have my skin and has never been even a little red. I should probably be a little more vigilant but it is so hot here in the summer that we try to stay in the shade most of the time.

DS is almost 7 and he has decided he doesn't want to wear a rash guard anymore (guess because his friends don't) and so I apply like every 30 mins 
His torso has never seen the light of day so it scares me! The tops of his shoulders got a little burned but nothing else!
DD I do every 2 hours or so.
I do reapply the face a lot though = cheeks get red quickly

I had melanoma when I was pregnant with DS so I'm pretty fanatical about it. He also knows he doesn't leave the house in summer without a hat.

I apply sunscreen on the kids every time we go out to play or go to the pool. The kids wear a rash guard to the pool, and luckily they don't question my choice. There are plenty of kids without rash guards and only swim trunks. If we're going outside in the shade for a short amount of time to play, I'll forgo the sunscreen because it's too much a hassle. LO2 runs away from me, and he is very stubborn about applying sunscreen.

Pretty nuts? If my mom takes her out for a stroller walk I make her put sunscreen on the part of her leg/feet that stick out of the stroller haha! And meanwhile I worry about her and never remember or bother to put on for myself

I think I'm careful but not crazy? I put it all over before we go out to the park or wherever in the morning. It's rare that we are out more than two hours, so I don't usually reapply, but I will do a quick reapplication in her legs in the stroller for our walk home if it's sunny. Hat always, rash guard for pool or beach. I don't usually reapply in the afternoon if we go back out after 4, if we go or before that I just do a quick touch up on arms and face. She naps from 1-3 ish so we avoid those peak hours anyway.
I also always put sunscreen on myself. One, because I want to be healthy and not get burned, two, because I'm vain and don't want to give myself wrinkles (I spent way too much time in the sun without enough sunscreen as a teen as t is!), and most importantly, C watches me put it on myself and it makes her more cooperative when I do her.

LO is only 15 mo old and extremely fair. Both DH and I are extremely fair as well and we both burn very very easily so I know LO would as well. If we're going to be out for more than 20 minutes I sunscreen all exposed skin and I try not to keep her in direct sun for more than an hour or two.
For myself I'm a bit less nuts. I use a face lotion with SPF every day and don't put extra on my face unless I'm going to be out for 2+ hours. If we are just going to the park for an hour or so I don't bother with sunscreen otherwise if just normal skin is exposed. At this point in the year I've built up a bit of color (for me, which is still pretty white compared to most lol) and my arms/chest doesn't burn in that amount of time. If I'm wearing anything that exposes more skin than usual though (like my back which rarely gets sun so burns very fast) I do sunscreen if I'll be out more than 30 min and if we'll be out for a couple hours I do everything.

Not much. I really should be better about it.
We start the day with a layer of sunblock but I sometimes forget to reapply by the time I should. I think the fact that daycare reapplies during the day makes me forget about it when they're with me

Both DH and I are fair and burn easily, plus DH is bald. He's fanatical about putting sunscreen on his head or wearing a hat, and I slather the sunscreen on LO even if he's only outside for a little while. He's got a nice farmer's tan going on

Not very nuts, but we use it every time we are out in the sun before 4 pm. They are pretty olive skinned and wear rash guards a lot of the time. I am very bad about using it on myself, but my DH and I are both pretty tan people and we never burn!

I almost never wear sunscreen. I rarely burn. I have had like 3 sunburns in my life.
I could be better about sunscreen with LO - really with the oppressive sun where we live she should wear it head to toe every day. But I usually only put it on if we are going to be playing outside for a while like the playground or splash pad. I do slather it - I really hate rubbing it in so it is easier just to be generous with it and kind of let it soak in, ha! She has dark skin so she doesn't really burn but I still want to protect her skin. She has gotten like 5 shades darker this summer though!

I only use it if we are at the pool or out for extended periods during peak hours. I do one coat at the pool and slap a long sleeved rash guard and hat on her. She hasn't burned yet and she is very fair.
