    Ours was around 3000$ total, including the honeymoon. I had just graduated college 4 months before and did not have a full-time job. In addition, my parents were going through a divorce and their money was tied up in that. So, we went to Vegas and had a party for our friends/family a week after. I'm very glad we saved our money on the wedding, because we were able to buy a house with our savings instead!

    @Arden: same!!!

    We spent 3k. It was all paid for by me! DH had just finished his degree and student teaching so he had no money. I had just taken a year off to work so I had a little in savings. We had a lot of friends help out, had a small intimate affair, and DIYed what we could.

    Our wedding was about 12K. We paid for most with parents helping. The honeymoon, which we also paid for, cost nearly as much...10K for three weeks together! I'd definitely spend the money the same way now!

    i have no idea!! too much? =D my parents paid generously for the majority of it, so there were bills i never even saw. we really wanted to keep it reasonable, but having an all day affair with 2 ceremonies, 1 meal & 2 sets of hors d'oeuvres, open beer & wine bar for 7 hours (yes, SEVEN hours!!) adds up no matter how much you budget. but i wouldn't change what was spent- we had dancers, drummers, and fireworks, it was AMAZING!

    Ours was around $30K, not including rings, honeymoon, or gifts. My parents paid for most of the reception, his parents paid for the rehearsal dinner. We would have had to do it a lot differently without that. We did pay for our own rings and honeymoon and all that. No one went into debt for it.

    About 12k, and I really regret it. I didn't really know what I wanted, so I didn't get it. This was before diy weddings were hip, so mine was sort of generically fancy in a way that I didn't enjoy. I wish I'd either gotten exactly the wedding I wanted, or really, I wish I'd done something really simple and just saved the money.
