How much cow milk does your young toddler drink during the day? How often?
LO is 16 months. For the last 4 months I have been sending a 3-4oz cup of BM and two 4oz cups of wcm to daycare. We just got back from a 10 day vacation where I breastfed on demand. My first day back at work, I only pumped 2oz, so, I'm ready to unplug the cord!
I'm wondering if I should replace the BM 1:1 with wcm or if it might work to simplify my packing and just send two larger cups of wcm.

We just offered milk at meal times and left water cups around the house. He really didn't drink more than a few ounces at each meal but he got yogurt and cheese and our ped said if he drinks 8-12oz a day that was plenty. Randomly around 18 months he decided he loves milk so now at 2 years old he probably drinks 16-ish ounces or more a day?

The recommendation is 3 servings of dairy a day. 4oz is a serving size for milk. So you would aim for 12 oz if you don't serve any other dairy. We were similar to gingerbee, gave a cup of milk at each meal, but didn't really worry about how much he drank since he also got yogurt and cheese.

I followed my ped's advice and replaced my nursing sessions with a 4-5oz. cup of milk, so he drinks three of those cups a day. I give him water for meal times. I see most people give milk at mealtimes, so, shrug!

DD is 21 months and she drinks about 14-16 oz of cow's milk a day. Some days more, some days less. We don't give milk at meal times; she likes to chug milk in the morning when she wakes up, and before teeth brushing/bed.

Holy cow, I wish my DD drank that much milk! My DD is 15 months, and will drink maaaaybe 1-2oz of milk a day. I weaned her 1.5 months ago. But we give her tons of yogurt and cheese and make sure she hits the 12oz daily. We always offer milk, but she just doesn't seem to care for it.

Doesn't your daycare provide WCM?
DD gets a cup of WCM with snacks and meals, but we/they don't track how many oz she drinks. Normally she is offered a full cup (5-6 oz?) and drinks somewhere around half to 3/4 of that. We don't stress about the amount as long as she's eating a variety of food and getting her fill.

She has gotten 8-12oz max WCM a day since 1. She gets dairy and healthy fats mainly through food, which I prefer. WCM isn't necessary, it's just easy.

At that age my kids both had WCM with breakfast and dinner. Both servings were about 6oz each sometimes more. They also eat cheese and yoghurt. They have water all throughout the day.

With my second, I really din't measure! He has been drinking it with meals since 12 months (we nursed morning and night until 13.5 months). Now at 21 months I am guessing he drinks a few oz at each meal, probably around 10 oz a day. Occasionally he'll slam a sippy of milk and want more, but that is rare.

General guideline is 16-24 oz per day but most recommend closer to 16-20. My LO is offered milk only with meals (not snacks) - 6 oz 3x per day. She generally drinks most of it, so about 16-18oz per day.
