I think I'm done shopping for my LO. Got him some board books, fischer price musical stacker, and the Melissa & Doug alligator clacker walker. He'll be 7 months at Christmas and will be spoiled rotten by his grandparents (ugh!)
So, my total comes to just about $100 (I did my shopping at bookworm.com, amazon, and yoyo.com and got great deals on everything).

$200 for a Thomas the Train table and trains. It's not a lot in quantity, but the Thomas stuff is just expensive. I am spending more than in the last 2 years because I wanted to get her something special since her baby sister is going to be taking lots of attention away from her. We don't have family around so she won't be getting spoiled with a lot of gifts.

Probably around $150-$200...her birthday is right around Christmas.

Our older kids are teens so we spend more on them then our younger 2. DS is 4 and I spent around $400 on him this year but only spent maybe $125 on DD because she will only be 10 weeks on Christmas. I wouldn't have gotten her anything if it was just her but since Santa is still real to DS we had to get her stuff from Santa.

We are probably spending around $50 on fun stuff but will wrap a few other things that she needs as well (winter clothes, etc). I also bought a lot of things on consignment in the fall so the prices were really low (2 books and 2 puzzles for $1 each, play table for $20, and Little People for $5).

She'll be 6 months and we'll only buy her something to open for pictures. We don't plan on spending much. Plus, she'll probably get toys from the in-laws. I also plan on getting her a stacking toy, but will likely buy it before then.

@winniebee: hahaha I feel the same way - I want her to be able to open something and have wrapping paper around to take pictures of her in. She will be sitting a bit better in another month, I'm sure. I figure if nothing else, we can take wrapping paper pictures at my parents house the weekend before.

We never get the boys much, we usually get them each something from santa and something from us. They have a total of 3 sets of grandparents so they get spoiled to no end!!!

Def capping at $100. I have no idea how we're going to swing christmas gifts this year. But somehow some way it'll happen. The nieces and nephews will not suffer because I'm out of a job!

Ours will not be more than $100. I have spent like... $30? We'll spend another $30 on an activity table and then she'll get a few small things for her stocking. So, I say $75-100 for us.

I bought him a new BlaBla doll and that might be it. I'll probably end up getting him some bath toys, though, since he's really been getting into bath time lately. He'll only be 8 months and is the first grandchild on both sides, so I'm sure he'll be spoiled. Plus I just really dislike having to deal with a ton of toys, and plan on keeping all of our Christmases small for him.

We don't celebrate Christmas but we had our holiday 3 weeks ago and we did nothing with LO;/ He was 3w old!
Grandparents got us clothing and gift-cards to BRU. So, I went out and bought him a Moby wrap and some other stuff with those:)

It's our LO's first Christmas and I'm trying to stick to the four gift rule because I know the grandparents are going to go crazy! Plus it's a tradition I'd like to start so why not right away!

@Mrs. High Heels: I ordered the vtech you listed! Lo loves phones too. She puts things to her ear and babbles/has a 5 minute convo with herself! actually she pretends she's talking to her Eemo, halmuhnee or appa! Never me since I'm always with her 
She calls the phone a "hello." Lol we think it's cute so haven't corrected her...

We spent a total of $25 on all 8 chanukah gifts this year. She doesn't understand gifts so I didn't feel the need to spend a lot.
When she gets older I'll buy 7 cheaper gifts and one nice gift for the last night.

So far we've spent $25 - I got her Violet the talking dog and some socks from old navy. She's going to be spoiled by my family (his doesn't celebrate Christmas) so I'm not going nuts. It will definitely probably stay around $50-60, max. And that's just if I include some clothes in the next size she'll need anyway!
Like PPs, I just want to be able to say it was from her first Christmas she'll be about 3 months, so won't know the difference.
