We are taking a trip in about 3 weeks and we thought getting massages at the spa would be amazing. I'm looking over the prices and they seem to be pretty steep. I'm curious what others would pay for a massage (single or couples) while on a vacation. It's for our 5 year, so it is a special trip but...I'm frugal

On a vacation, on a resort property....I'd think around $150 for a pretty basic (aroma therapy, deep tissue, etc. - no scrubs/treatments) 50 minute massage for one person would be pretty standard.
I feel like if you're willing to venture off of resorts, there are always cheap and cheerful places that cost much, much less. If I'm on vacation and only getting one massage during the stay, I treat myself to the resort spa. If I want a massage every day of a trip or am just getting a quick massage on a random Saturday at home, I check out the beachside/cheap local places. Price I'm willing to pay totally varies by location.

I always think I want one but can't stomach the cost at a resort when I could get one at home for less than half the cost. I guess I wouldn't pay more than $120.

Where we used to live, massages were $60-80.
Where we live now, an hour-long massage is $10-12!

I pay $80 here for one and half of it is covered by our insurance.
On our honey moon I think it was around $120-150?

I pay $60-80 locally. On a resort I would expect it to be $150-200 which I'm not usually willing to pay so I usually wait until I get home!

Around $120 with tip at our 'special' fancy spot and local club discount. But I only get that once in a blue moon. Massage schools are around $35. LO gives pretty good massages these days! The Bay Area has an Aveda school which is pretty good. I think most general massage places are 60-80.

When we go to this spa an hour away, it's $130 each for an hour. They aren't even registered or anything, it's kinda crazy considering the calibre they consider the spa.
We have a girl in town ( who sadly is on mat leave!) That was amazing and a 90 min was like $70. It was seriously the best.

I'm paying someone $75 for a 60 minute massage this weekend. She's the best I've ever found, and she's coming to my house!

At a resort? I don't think I have ever paid less than $100. I usually get the hour long massage, runs about $150.

At a resort, I expect to pay about $180 for an hour massage - which is pretty steep compared to what I would typically pay at home. However, we are also going away on our 5 year anniversary trip and I will finally be out of the first trimester so I am totally indulging!

Ugh, I know, I can never bring myself to pay for resort/hotel prices b/c they're so jacked up! Even though you are supposed to just splurge and treat yourself...

Generally I'd say about $150
I did get one at a resort once when DH and his friend went to golf (his friend's girlfriend and I went for massages)
Knowing the guys were shelling out a lot of money for golf and drinks...we were willing to pay just about anything for our massage
I say go for it.
I did consider a pedicure when we were in vegas, but it was $100 or more and for just a pedicure, I couldn't stomach that. But for a massage, I'd be willing to pay more since I don't get them as often.
