That's no biggie. As long as you're both happy, the amount of times you say it doesn't really matter. In my opinion at least.

My SO and I probably say it a few times a week. We've been trying to be more thoughtful lately, so we've amped it up a bit.

Every night. My hubby really likes to say it so he makes sure that we do at least one time a day.

All the time. At least when he leaves in the morning and before we go to bed at night, but usually one or two more times in between. I just like him to know I love him

Every morning before husband leaves for work and each night before we go to sleep. So different from my Korean parents - I've never heard them say 'I love you' to each other! Korean parents just don't do that.

Multiple times a day as well. I dont think that couples that say it less mean they love each other less either.

My hubs says it to me all the time, at least3 times a day. I say it at least once a day.

Maybe 10x a day?

Many times a day, before we leave for work and before going to sleep for sure, and sometimes in between depending on what's happening!

I wouldn't feel bad though. It's the love you have for each other and how you show it that matters, not how often you say the words.

Rob Sr. says it several times a day, in person, on the phone, and thru texts. I say it maybe once every other day. I have a lot of issues with the phrase (when we were dating, I made Rob Sr. promise not to say it for the first time until I gave him the ok, which was 6 months into the relationship) and I only like to say it when I'm emotionally feeling it 100%. On the flip side, I like to hear it a lot and he likes to say it a lot. So it works.

Constantly. Whenever we part company, get off the phone, go to bed, or just feel moved to say it. I'm also a little crazy though and if God forbid something ever happened to one of us it's really important to me that "I love you" was the last thing we said to each other.

Minimum of twice a day - when he leaves, and when we go to bed. And otherwise, a lot. But I grew up with the thought of "Tell someone you love them as often as you think it." I also tell close friends I love them every time we talk, and parents (mine AND my mother in law), our siblings, and my godkids/nieces/nephews.

Multiples times a day. Via text, phone, and in person. like @carrielouwho, I grew up with my parents being very vocal about I love you's, etc. DH did with his mom, but not his dad...

I think our frequency is more out of habit... and I appreciate the random ILYs than our go to "ilysm" texts or before bed ILYs. (:

We say it at least every day (in the morning before work) and sometimes multiple times in the evening, but some of it really is just habit, so don't feel bad if you and your SO don't say it all the time. As long as you both FEEL loved, that's all that really matters.

We say it quite a few times a day... probably somewhere between 5-10? We've always been that way though, and it's what works for us. Call us sappy or whatever, but it's really nice to hear/read.

we say it multiple times a day. we were listening to a radio show that said "successful couples" say it 3-4 times per week. i thought that was really low. i guess we don't put much thought into it in the sense that we say it when we feel it and don't really count it up.

@MamaMoose: Agreed. It's really important for me (and always has been for my family) for us to say "I love you" before we part, both because we mean it, and just in case it's the last thing we ever say to each other.
