I see some friends who have a TON of stuff for their babies, and mine has so little compared to them. On average, i buy something new (a couple of items) maybe once every 3-4 weeks?

We rarely buy new things. I myself am most certainly a minimalist though so I get what we need with a few fun extras and I'm set.

We pretty much only buy toys for birthdays, special occassions, and Christmas - we make sure to get stuff that LO will grow into over the course of the year. Right now, she's just as happy playing with household objects as she is with any of her toys anyway, and I can't handle the clutter tons of toys create. Books, on the other hand, are a total weakness for me. We probably average 3 or 4 books each month. We go to the library twice a week, so I really have no excuse for spending so much money on books...

Rarely, but she still has a ton. We have both sets of grandparents close by

My husband can't come home from the grocery store without a new book. We need more shelves already!

Maybe once or twice a month? I feel like we have a lot of stuff though but we got a ton of hand-me-downs and I'll make toys out of random household items.

Too much. DS gets little toys or books almost weekly. He's got so much crap, but he's a really good kid, so I like to reward him with little fun stuff. We also do a lot of giving away stuff he doesn't play with anymore.
I'll probably be the same way with dd...I can't help it...I buy more for them than I do myself!

We don't buy LO much...she still seems to have plenty though.

Never hahaha! Nearly all the toys/books he's received we're from baby showers, Christmas and his birthday. I bought him books once: hit up a thrift store and bought 20 books. And we bought him toys once when he was 7 months old because he's outgrown all his infant toys. And we bought those used from Once Upon A Child.

Rarely, but he still has too much from birthdays and the holidays. We did join Citrus Lane (gift subscriptions) and so far we received two months which both had a book and this month had a toy.

LO has a lot of little things and every now and then if I'm out, I'll buy her something new - a book, a puzzle, Crayola markers...Nothing big. I haven't bought her a toy in months.

I would say bi-monthly. We didn't receive a lot of books at my showers. Reading a couple of board books to him before nap and bedtime has become an integral part of our sleep routine. The other day, I bought some more Sandra Boynton board books. I also have a bunch of books my mom gave me during our last visit there from her kindergarten library. When he gets older, we'll read those.

Every three to four months. I feel like I should get stuff more often.
