I mean, if they haven't spit up or anything, do you just let em hang out in their sleepers or outfits as much ad possible? I was changing LO every morning but he's six days old and I've realized that might be overkill. And laundry is a b!$&@.

When LO was real tiny she lived in her sleepers. As long as she was clean and dry, I'd let her hang out for a while in the morning before changing her. The laundry does catch up on you quickly!

It's our morning routine to change his diaper, do tummy time and then put him in a onesie or sleep and play, even if his sleeper gown is perfectly clean. I want him to get used to having clothes put on and taken off since in the beginning he screamed every time something went over his head. I'm doing laundry every day anyway so two items if infant clothing isn't making it pile up any more than usual.

One a day in the morning and he usually keeps it on all day until the next morning. he is living in soft gowns and long sleeve t shirts with a swaddle. Like you said, he doesn't spit up or anything and hasn't had a diaper leak so I still look at him as clean haha !!!

@oahujeni: pretty much the same. I get LO dressed in a new outfit every day as part of our routine. plus, he has so many cute outfits, I want him to wear them all before he outgrows them.

@oahujeni: Ditto- my LO hated clothing changes so we did it a lot and she's used to it now...
We usually end up in 2 outfits/sleepers a day, on avg...

I usually had changed his outfit in the morning so that he had a *day* outfit and then put on PJ type clothing before bed. He didn't drool or spit up or have any accidents then so I really didn't even need to change him in the mornings but did anyways.
PS - congrats!!!

I didn't know you'd had the baby, congratulations!
When DS was a newborn he'd hang out in a sleep n play or some form of onesie, maybe with leggings. We gave him a bath every night and put him in a sleep sack, and in the morning he got put in something new. So once a day? Once the drool started it got more frequent, though, because he'd soak his top through, even with a bib on.
Do whatever's easiest for you!

I've been changing DD in the morning. Not because she needs it, but because I'm looking to establish a routine.....and also to get her into little clothes while she still fits.

Congrats on the new one! Depending on what we are doing, maybe once a day. For instance, DH put a clean onesie on LO after her bath last night. I'll put her in an actual outfit this morning since we are going out for a while and she'll be seeing her grandparents later. If we were staying at home I'd just leave her in the onesie. maybe add leggings or something. I've taken her out in a warm sleeper too.

Thanks everyone!
It's funny that right after I posted this, he had a poop leak. So he did get changed right away- I am glad I waited!. he is good about getting his clothes changed, and right now he is just fitting in NB clothes- which I didn't really expect. i only initally had 1 sleeper, 2 gowns, and 1 pair of pants in nb!
i grabbed some more things at target yesterday (yay clearance!) so now he he has 2 sleepers 2 gowns 2 long sleeve onesies and 2 pairs of pants, plus 3 pairs of baby legs. At least the 0-3 Gerber onesies are smaller so he does have plenty of base layers.

@dagret: congrats! I think this thread warrants a pic of the new guy!

@oliviaoblivia: like you I have been changing her every morning just to have a routine. This also makes me change so we feel ready for the day. Even if we stay inside all day! We're also CDing so the laundry issue with her tiny clothes doesn't pertain to us!

I changed his clothes morning and night. I always dressed him in a cute but comfy outfit every morning, and into a sleeper every night.
