I usually go 2x a week. I want to get my act together and only go once a week to save time, but I also like things on the fresher side so I like doing 2 trips for that reason. What do you do?

I usually go once a week.
Sometimes if I run out of stuff I'll have DH run across the street.

We do one really big trip a month, meal plan to use the fresh vegetables first, and then supplement on the weekend if I need something for an off-the-plan meal.

@FutureMrsMcK: wow, how do you get the other things to last a month - like fruit? Do you freeze the meat?

Once a week, but I often stop in the grocery store to pick up one or two items I forgot or decided would be good with dinner.

@Andrea: Yeah, we buy bulk meat from Costco, portion it out into freezer-safe bags and throw it in the freezer. As for fruit...um, we're bad and don't eat a lot of it? I mean we buy it, but usually eat it within a week or so, and don't run back out to buy more. DH sometimes randomly brings some home though.

I do one big shop and then stop for fruits and veggies a few times a week. I wish I could go just once because I feel like I am always there!

I get grocery delivery once a week, which I would highly recommend. So worth it for avoiding the hassle of a big shopping trip with an active toddler. Then I go to a small market a few times a month for local fruit etc.

We do one big trip every two weeks and then buy milk, eggs, bread, butter, and produce once a week.

Once a week. I use the fresh fruits and veggies first, like for snack lo has blueberries in the beginning then later in the week she'll have yogurt. For dinners ill save things that last longer like carrots and potatoes for the end of the week.

Once a week...we do our meal planning on Sundays, then go grocery shopping the same day to get everything we need for the week. I'll occasionally make a quick trip to the store in the middle of the week if we need something like Italian bread for a pasta dish that particular day .

I go 2-3x a week, typically. Sometimes 4... I love fresh fruit though... We go through it fast... and going to Farmer's Markets is a fun thing for the kids now, too! Some of them have kid-friendly activities and a place to picnic, so we'll have dinner there...

Usually once a week, unless we need to run out and grab a couple more things.

Twice a week but I meal plan so my first trip is bigger and I get meat and produce for the beginning of the week plus nonperishables for the whole week. Then my second trip is just meat and produce for the end of the week.

I try and do one large shop once a week, usually on Monday's when it's quiet and then anything else we need, I send DH out for.

I do my main shopping trip for everything on my list every monday, but sometimes I grab some extra fruit or veggies later in the week. We go through a LOT of produce.

Too often. I would love to meal plan and go just once per week, but I can't get my SO to understand how that works. I will meal plan, but then he'll get an idea in his head of what he wants for dinner, and pop by the store after work, two or three times a week! Even if I've already done a big shopping trip that week! It makes it really hard to meal plan and to budget for groceries.

1-2x a week. We used to randomly grocery shop, but ever since I started meal planning we do one big run once per week, and if I'm missing anything small I'll do another quick run.
