There are about 5 guys here cleaning out our vents. We change our filters every 6 months-a year, but the vents haven't been cleaned in over 4 years.
The guys said there's so much crap in the vents and the air in our house is possibly worse than the air outside. FANTASTIC!

We do the same, DH switches out filters, but we haven't had them cleaned since we moved in a lil less than three years ago, we will def be having them cleaned this summer.

@mrsjyw: I'd definitely have them cleaned before the baby comes! It's such a pain having them here with our LO crawling around. Air feels fresher already though!

Huh. I never considered actually cleaning out our vents.... With two dogs in our house, our filters get nasty SUPER quick.

We need to get our vents cleaned out soon too!! We do change our filters frequently, but we've seen our vents - yikes!!

I so want to do this, we cahnge our filters all the time, but I swear our vents have to be dirty. I vaccuum the actual vents every couple months, but seeing how gross they get can only mean the inside is horrible.
How much does this cost if you don't me asking?

@jessiejo17: We got a group on deal for .. $49 bucks. But they suckered us into getting a washable filter (89 bucks) plus some other special stuff. Our total came out to be $250. If we didn't get the groupon deal it probably would have been closer to 500.

@Alivoo01: If you wanna save money on filters, we just got a washable (take it out and wash it every 4 months) vent! It was $89 bucks.

Are you talking about just the vents (the slotted grates on the floor or walls) or the actual duct work?
We vacuum the vents often but i think the last time the ducts were cleaned was when we moved in.
But def a good idea to clean out the ductwork at our new house before we move in!
