We try and only go twice per month. This does not include a trip to say Target for a few toiletry items. How often do you go food shopping per month?

Costco every week (milk, lettuce, tomatoes and bananas)
Grocery store every other week (produce, meat and cans)

We have to go every week. We eat a ton of fresh fruits and veggies, and most go bad within a week to 10 days. There are some days where we have to go twice in one week if we've forgotten something or if LO houses his strawberries (which he usually does).

I go to Costco weekly, Trader Joes weekl, Asian market bi-weekly, and the regular grocery store once a month or so. It's a bit annoying

At least once a week, usually twice (once for our bigger weekly shop, once because we forgot to pick something up or want something extra).

Costco/Sam's Club: Twice per month
Grocery store: Every Sunday
And even then, I still end up going for odds and ends during the week.

Usually twice a week. One big trip, and one smaller trip for fresh meat and produce. I prefer to do those in smaller chunks for freshness.

Ummm, almost every day? But we don't have a car. I also live 5min walking from one and 10min walking from another. I was actually at the grocery store twice today!

usually twice a week...i like to buy lots of fresh veggies and fruit and i find ours go back very quickly. also, i have a hard time meal planning for that many days, so i usually go Wed and Sun and plan meals for the next few days only.

Once a week. Sometimes we'll go twice if an event comes up and we need to bring something. We've been pretty good about limiting it to once a week, though. Before I "taught" DH about meal-planning and making lists he'd go to the store like 4 times a week.

We grocery shop once a week so our produce doesn't go bad, and then we go to Costco once every two to three weeks.

Once a week. We may stop by one more time mid-week to pick up something I forgot or ran out of at home.

Once a week for the grocery store. Costco is usually every 2 weeks.
I don't see how people go every other week. Milk and veggies are a must every week.

Once a week, but usually once more just to pick up some fresh veggies or something needed for a side for dinner.

I go twice a week. I don't buy too many fresh ingredients in advance. I buy as needed depending on what I want to cook. I always have staples like milk, yogurt, cheese, and lunch meats stocked upon a weekly basis.

Multiple times a week. We eat fresh veggies and/or salads with every dinner (and when I bring my lunch I often bring a big salad) and fresh produce doesn’t last much more than a few days. We also eat a ton of avocados, LO eats fresh fruit and milk. I don't mind the trips; it's a fair tradeoff for me to eat fresher/perishable foods more often.

Every Sunday! We might buy extra meat some weeks but always buy fresh produce every Sunday.

@Smurfette: well with produce things like potatoes, bananas (we buy very green for this reason, apples, onion etc all last longer than a week. So we eat the things like berries, lettuce first then we still have fresh produce the following week. Milk lasts us two weeks.

I Hate grocery shopping, especially now that I'm preg with twins.... Costco is usually once a month, and regular grocery store is even less.

@Bao: Our grocery never has really green bananas. I tried even organic and they still don't last more then a week. R goes through a gallon of milk a week, and day care provides it for lunch Mon-Fri!

@Smurfette: we aren't huge milk drinkers so that helps. It was crazy I bought bananas and it took 11 days just so they were ripe enough to eat!

Weekly. Usually Saturday mornings. This includes Target and the grocery store.

Since I'm a SAHM, I stop in probably every other day to pick things up. I don't do one weekly trip anymore. I get fresh deli meat/cheese a few times a week and fresh produce a lot. This way I only have to carry a bag or two each time and my son enjoys riding in the cart, so the trips are worked into our morning outings on our way home. BJ's we go to monthly with my husband.

All the time. I tend to go like every other day for something or another. If I had my way, I would go everyday and just buy what I need for dinner that night.

@Jenn23: This is another reason that I like to go daily. I am almost always on my own and I hate carrying in a million bags by myself.

Once to twice a week.
I used to walk there even more often while still on parental leave. I often needed a reason to get out

@bpcmarj: I know! I hate carrying all the bags, plus hate putting so much at one time a way. Especially when my toddler could be fussy. One or two bags...piece of cake! Oh and I'm also constantly forgetting things to add to my grocery list white board on the fridge, so that's another reason I go so often. Never fails that within an hour of coming home from the store, I realize I'm out of something else or it expired. I'm so bad with that!

I use Peapod every two weeks. I have a delivery coming tomorrow morning. Depending upon how much stuff we have and need, I'll do a trip to Target for quick grab stuff like grapes, bananas, etc.

once a week and then pop into the small local store for milk or fruit or produce if we run out.

Once a week. We eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies, plus there's only so much i can fit in my old lady cart!!

Grocery store weekly and Target frequently, although it's tough with a one month old who hates his car seat so my Target trips are less frequent but I suppose that makes my bank account happy!

Does Costco count? If not, it depends. Getting Blue Apron and Plated meals delivered really reduced our grocery store trips. I went yesterday to try to find a tea I was looking for.
