LO is peeing on the potty when I put her on there but she's not yet signaling when she has to go. How often do you put your LO on the potty while they're learning?

We do it at the times of the day when they're most likely to go. For instance, before/after naps, meals, outings, and bathtime.
When we made the final push to fully potty training DD, we put her on every hour for the first three days, and after that, we'd just ask if she needed to go when we noticed it had been more than 1.5-2 hours since her last potty.

We put him on when we think about it but he is still young. Daycare takes them every 20 to 30 minutes.

@brownie: Wow, that's a lot. I feel like she gets mad at me if I take her or ask her too much. So I"m trying to find a good balance but I wish she'd go that often, then we'd be sure to catch it.

@Maysprout: Better to ask too much than not enough, right?
My niece is 4 and still not potty trained because her mom has that problem. "I don't want to keep asking her, she will just say no!" ..make her go to the potty!

@Maysprout: it is hard to find the balance between asking/making them do it and not to Often that they hate the idea. We have a bucket of toys that he can play with on the toilet and that helps. It keeps him there longer for success.

@brownie: She's a week away from 17 months, wow that sounds so old. We did EC and she was soooooo good, I barely had to change a poopy diaper when she was 8-9 months or so but then we moved and she just refused to get on the potty and we didn't push it since there were lots of changes going on. The last month or 2 she's been happily sitting on the potty but it's more like story time and occassionally she'll go. It's just been this week that we put her on the potty and she's like OK I'll pee now. So that's a bit why I'm a bit worried about mucking it up again since she got anti-potty after the move.

@Maysprout: My LO is 18 months today. We have been practicing the potty since he was 9 months old. He had a regression at about the same time (15 months). He has JUST started back into all of it. He also just started saying the words (pee and poop). We just encourage him and ask often. He usually chooses to go. He will lift his shirt after peeing and we discuss pee and put him on the potty to sit. So we are working on feeling it etc.

We put him on the potty every hour for a week. Then it was more 1.5-2 hours, until he started letting us know.
